I have naturally dark brown hair with an old (brassy) balayage. I was going to get that topped up and 'de brassed', but then came across this.

Is it just unrealistic?

In my experience it washes out really really quickly. I went for a rose gold type colour and used the recommended shampoo and condition from the salon and it still washed out after a couple of washes

It’s almost rose gold.. the rose would have to be coloured on top of a clear light blonde base.. you need to get a colour consultant to have a look at it x

You could maintain it by mixing some dye (such as manic panic) into conditioner to use every time you wash your hair. It would replace the colour being washed out. You would only need a small amount in the conditioner.

I have very dark brown hair, almost black. I had a red balayage. They had to lighten my hair first so the red would take. The red faded very quickly and I was left with a blonde balayage. So I imagine the rose gold would be the same. Although I have looked at similar photos and wanted the same colour myself.

Washes out right away. I had it and one shade after washing just looks faded and not good

😫 I knew it!

It's so pretty though! Oh well. Back to the drawing board/Pinterest.

Red fades very quickly.
I used to have dark pink and it would fade light pastel very quickly and if you are dark brown they will probably need to bleach it first

Another one who has had rose gold before. It looked awesome, but washed out really quickly.

I have naturally medium/dark blonde hair, which they highlighted and then put a toner over the top, so I was just left with highlights.

Left with highlights...when the toner washed out I mean.
