Grey/silver due on mostly grey hair?

I picked up a box of permanent grey/silver dye with the plan to even up my mostly grey hair. Got it home and saw the teeny tiny print that it’s not suitable for predominantly grey hair. Is this because it wouldn’t stick? Or would it turn the grey hair a weird colour? I’ve googled but found lots of results for colouring prelightened hair grey.

I could wait until the summer holidays before I risk it so none of my work colleagues and the small children I work with see the results but not sure if it’s worth it after the amount of time it actually took the 8 wash dye to ‘wash out’ last year.

Your hair is a lovely colour as it is . If you want to dye it - could you mix a tiny amount and cut your hair underneath at the back and colour that to see the result ?

I love your hair colour as it is.
It doesn't look like it needs a dye to even it up.
