Eye make-up help please in 50s

I haven’t worn any make up for a year and today dug out my old kohl pencil and it wouldn’t go on. My eyes seem a bit more watery than of old and the kohl just wouldn’t stick.

What should I use? I haven’t a clue. I don’t want jet black but need some definition as I am fair (think Bonnie Tyler....).

It may just have got old & dried out. Better to throw it out & buy a new one, Rimmel do a good inexpensive one.
You could use a dark eyeshadow applied with a dampened small brush instead or gel ones usually stick fairly well.
I find brown or dark grey is more flattering as I’ve got older.

Are liners better than a pencil?

I prefer grey rather than black, it's less harsh. I always use a pencil. Try applying some concealer to the area first.

I get the wind up Rimmel one, no sharpening, then with a small liner brush, go over the line with a dark coloured powder shadow used dry. That way it lasts better.

I love the idea of Rommel contemplating his eyeliner alongside his battle strategy. 🤣

Ooh! Ooh! Avon glimmersticks are fab. On ebay or Amazon, and brown or grey is fab. No sharpening needed, twist up and they absolutely don't smudge!

If your blind and blue eyed try a dark rose or copper eyeliner it makes blue eyes stand out.

Blond, not blind.

I like by Terry ombré blackstars, they’re a bit pricey though. Rimmel is also great!
