Can you recommend a moisturizer for very dry hands?

My hands are so dry they are bleeding. My usual moisturizer is not sorting them out. Very grateful for any recommendations!!

O'Keeffes working hands and Nursem are my current favourites (I get the bleeding hands thing too)

Blueballoon3 · 19/04/2021 15:29

Thank you!

I like the La Roche Posay ones link to the Lipikar but they are all good
Or Neutrogena Swedish formula - quite greasy but put it on at night

Also always use gloves to wash up (slap some cream on before you start) even just quick washes etc

Inmypjsagain · 19/04/2021 15:38

L’occitane is my favourite. Hope you find something that helps soon, sounds sore!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/04/2021 15:38

LRP cicaplast is fabulous. I would also use aqueous or silcocks if hands are that bad instead of soup. Keep a barrier up.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 19/04/2021 15:39

This happened to dd & I from using hand sanitizer.
CeraVe was the only thing that worked

cardoon · 19/04/2021 15:55

soup Grin

sandgrown · 19/04/2021 16:00

Cetraben is the only thing that works on mine . Available from chemists .

cardoon · 19/04/2021 16:05

I'm a fan of cicaplast too, when my fingers start to crack it heals them very quickly

goose1964 · 19/04/2021 16:25

Garnier intensive 7 day is good.

3beesinmybonnet · 19/04/2021 18:36

I use Lidl own brand Cien Intensive Hand Cream. Very similar to Neutragena but only costs a few quid.

3beesinmybonnet · 19/04/2021 18:39

Oh and I second the pp who advised wearing rubber gloves to wash up.

Tillytess · 19/04/2021 18:43

I also get very dry hands and have used all sorts of expensive and fancy hand creams. The best I have found is Aldis lacura intensive hand cream, I think it cost 2 quid. Best thing ever

redcandlelight · 19/04/2021 18:45

weleda skin food if you are ok with lanolin and calendula

ginoclocksomewhere · 19/04/2021 18:45

Body Shop Hemp is 👌👌👌 I used to get such horrible cracked hands in the winter when I had horses- this stuff is magical!

StellaLeonte · 19/04/2021 18:47

Liz Earle and Caudalie are my go to brands.

bestbefore · 19/04/2021 18:50

Have you checked with the doctor? Might be hand exema? Will need steroid cream

FindingMeno · 19/04/2021 18:50

I second Body Shop hemp.
I get lots of splits and its brilliant stuff.

Bul21ia · 19/04/2021 18:50

Body shop hand hemp! I don’t think you will beat it! Repairs hands quickly and you don’t need a huge amount.

amusedtodeath1 · 19/04/2021 18:54

O'Keefe's, it doesn't look fancy but it really works. La Roche Possay would be my second choice.

purplebagladylovesgin · 19/04/2021 18:57

Decent nappy cream at night! Really works miracles. I use Bepanthen.

ElderMillennial · 19/04/2021 18:58

I like the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream hand cream

25yearsnhsworker · 19/04/2021 18:59

Mine have been raw. Cereve hand repair and body shop hemp have helped so much.

ShrinkingViolet9 · 19/04/2021 19:03

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Unscented Hand Cream 50ml.

You only need a small amount. I've occasionally used it on my face, too, and on elbows.

Kiehl's Ultimate Hand Salve is brilliant (but pricey)
Mixa in the orange tube is v similar and inexpensive (French but available in the UK)
Lansinoh nipple cream for breastfeeding mothers is surprisingly effective and also not very expensive
