Bravissimo sizing

Hi I was measured at Bravissimo last year. I had been wearing 40DDs and they correctly measured me at 36G.
If I purchase bras in other shops at this size would they fit me.
I have tried on bras in M and S previously but the 36 band wouldn’t fasten.
Any advice welcome.

When you tried M&S 36 back bras were you wearing a big enough cup? They miss out the FF cup so you'd need to go bigger than a G cup to fit your breasts in

Brastop is good for bras

All brands seem a bit different inbra size and also how they measure. Bravissimo tend to measure a correct fit a lot tighter than M&S i prefer the tighter fit as it gives more support. Get a couple if sizes and see what feels best

I find bravissimo fit too tight for me. Last time I went the fitter was really good though and listened when I said I’d never wear a bra that tight, and went up a back size and down a cup size. I find that if I wear the size they recommend (or boob and bust, which are even more extreme) I have red welts by the end of the day and quickly develop a yeast infection under my breasts (sorry if TMI!).

I think you just have to take a punt and order a load based on the size you think you are and be prepared to send lots back. Remember that going up a back size you need to go down a cup size, and vice versa. Start with a bra you own and work from there.

I went from a 36DD to a 36F (and eventually to a G cup.) after being measured by Bravissimo. I’ve worn my size in various brands sold by them Freya, Panache etc and found them fine. I’ve tried in lockdown to buy from M&S but find them hopeless.... the cups are always MASSIVE.... like you can’t wear a V neck or scoop neck because the cups come up too high. I have found them too loose & too tight so don’t bother with them now. The last nice bra I bought was a Freedom bra ( I think it was called) which was wireless and very comfortable.

Bravissimo did always feel tight to start with but the improvement in overall shape was shocking when compared to my previously fitted bras by M&S. I definitely look slimmer when fitted properly.

Also, your bra will relax after a few wears, so it's not bad to feel a bit too tight in the band at first.

M&S are just shit (or unique Hmm), but other than that all the major brands size with the same system I think. Bravissimo also sell Panache, Freya etc as well as their own brand. So your size should be the same.

However, remember that cup shape/bra style also plays a part so you will still occasionally have to size up/down. This is in large part due to wear your breast holds its fullness, so can't be part of the measurement, but it will usually be sizing in the same direction for the same style so once you know your boobs well enough it bbecomes not too hard. Eg I occasionally have to size up for some bra styles because most of my fullness is at the bottom of my breast and that can sometimes spill upwards depending on the lift the bra offers.
