Nuface and conducting gels

They are so expensive, I've been using aloe Vera gel but Nuface have now come out saying using aloe Vera gel means the device will only work 'superficially'. Which it kind of does anyway? So is this corporate gumph designed to enslave you to their horribly priced gels, or is there something in it? Nuface users, do you all use the Nuface gels and if not how have you got on with the alternatives? Thank you!

Have you looked at TENS machine gel? The NuFace is effectively a facial TENS machine and works in exactly the same way so the efficacy shouldn’t be affected.

Ooh, I haven't! I wouldn't even have thought to, thank you!

I use their gels because they're designed to rub into the face afterwards and I can't be bothered to wash off any residue. The TENS machine gel is a good suggestion and I have read that bog standard ultrasound gel works fine.

I use the Nuface gel because unfortunately everything else I’ve tried has given me a rash. I think the nuface gel is much thicker. So I buy the big pump bottle of nuface gel as it works out a bit cheaper and lasts months
