Semi permanent dyes which do not contain PPD?

I’ve not dyed my hair in years, due to severe PPD allergy.

I’m just getting really fed up with it right now though, it’s a kinda mid auburny-brown colour, I wanted to see if I could do a semi permanent dye, or something that would just add a bit of colour, like a red or purple, so not just enhancing a natural colour, but still not too too bright, not a bus red or anything.

Does the Schwarzkopf live semi contain PPD? They have a raspberry colour I quite like.

I’ve looked through the ingredients and can’t see the ppd specifically, but these things have so many alternative names.

If not, has anyone got any ideas to get this same kind of colour with a ppd semi? Thanks so much 😃

Pretty certain Daniel Field watercolour has no ppd. I find their range pretty effective for grey coverage, the only thing is their colours tend to be darker than they look on me.

Ok brilliant, thank you, I’ll take a look.

Bump, just in case anyone knows about the live semi permanent one?

I have a box here, but don’t even want to risk doing a patch test if it has PPD in it

Hi, I've found this information for you:
Do not use if you have ever experienced any reaction after colouring your hair,

Thank you so much LandGirlJulie

You wouldn’t happen to know what an ‘oxidative’ hair dye is would you 🤦‍♀️
Back to google lol 🤣

Okay, so I think oxidative means when you use a developer, which I don’t think this one has.
It does definitely say there is no PPD in that link, so I think I’ll chance a patch test!

Thank you Julie

Good luck. Let me know how it goes, I'm also allergic to PPD so just had a delivery of Daniel Field Watercolour. Haven't used it yet, got a load of Lush henna to use first

Just an update for you @landgirljudy I did the patch test for the live semi permanent, and I left it on for about two hours. No reaction! I haven’t had time to do my hair yet, but I’m quite excited!
