Hi,
I am sure that I am not alone in this situation. Basically since lockdown I have completely let myself go and feel meh. I cant get myself out of this rut.

Has anyone got any advice/tips to help me get my sparkle back?

I have a manicure/pedicure with gel nails booked in May and my hair appointment is in May.

I just feel so fat (have started sw) lazy, my skin is dry, black circles under my eyes etc.

Sorry for the moan 😳

I would adapt a very simple make-up routine. I use a tinted cc cream, concealer, a bit of blush, mascara, and a very nuetral, slightly pink eyeshadow which just makes my eyes look a bit brighter. The whole routine takes less than 5 minutes and makes a huge difference. I put it on even if I'm not going anywhere because it simply makes me feel better and brighter.

For skin care, I use The Ordinary. Their retinol and lactic acid serums are brilliant and very inexpensive. They make a huge improvement for your skin.

Thanks Aquamarine, I will take a look at the skin products. The make up routine you mentioned sounds good. I've not had make up on for weeks if not longer. I do like wearing make up as it makes me feel better within myself. I've spent the whole of lockdown in Pjs.

I would get very down if I didn't "put my face on", as my grandmother would say, and it has nothing to do with impressing anyone else, it just makes me feel better. It's like a small little bit of therapy, haha.

100% agree with your grandmother.

For me the things that help me feel generally better are:
Drink lots of water
Walk more often (I work full time but try to squeeze in a lunchtime walk)
Stretch frequently during work hours
Cut out sugar
Drink less alcohol
Spend less time on phone
Get more sleep
Eat less carbs
Read more as opposed to screen time.

Other than those which don’t cost money, my priority to feel good about myself is a hair cut, I bet yours will make a huge difference as it’s been so long!

Fantastic list thanks very much 😊 BlairWLS

The past few days I have been dressed and had light make up on/hair straightened. And I've been out and about now that we are allowed in Scotland. I cant believe the difference it's made to me 😊 I feel human and back in the world again. It's fab to see people and get out for walks.

Thanks both again 💐
