Glossier or Trinny London?

ILoveFlumps · 14/04/2021 15:18

I've seen lots of recommendations for both of these.
I'm looking for a BB/CC Cream / Tinted moisturiser and concealer.
Has anyone tried both of these and have a preference?
Any other must haves from either of the brands whilst I'm there?!

I’d say the Trinny BFF has move coverage than the Glossier skin tint. The Glossier is incredibly light coverage imo, to the point it didn’t make much difference to my skin.

The Glossier concealer is nice, but I would say very light coverage again.

Glossier, I like the bow brow and cloud paint.

Not too convinced about other Trinny products.

*Move = more

I love the Trinny BFF Serum De-Stress (smells amazing too!) and the BFF serum eye concealer - I have really dark circles and it's the best concealer I've ever used. I also like the Lip2Cheek and their eye creams which stay on all day. The Match2Me tool is really good too - just input your hair, eye and skin colour and it will match the products to you. There is a lot of hype about Miracle Blur - it's ok but the No 7 Primer is much cheaper and works just as well in my opinion.

Thanks all. Very useful!

I haven't tried Trinny but I've been a Glossier customer since they first launched here. ( I have a voucher code on the Promo board). I have repeat bought the Skin Tint ( sheer and lovely in the summer) , the concealer ( excellent and equally good under the eyes as well as other parts of the face) and Boy Brow. I've just discovered the SPF which is a great gel like consistency and really comfortable and non sticky. I like the scent for layering rather than by itself. The Cloud Paints are lovely too. I wasn't as keen on the Generation G lipsticks. Haloscope is a great subtle "grown up " highlighter. I loved the Vinylic lip glosses but unfortunately they've been discontinued. I've tried other Glossier products too.

Glossier for the sole reason I wouldn’t give a penny of my money to that snarky bitch who mocked a victim of domestic violence in public.

Atalune · 15/04/2021 09:12

I rate from glossier-
Concealer
Boy brow

Not so great-
Skin tint- very very sheer!
Lipsticks- very drying

Trinny- very small pots so the price point seems expensive.

MindBodyChocolate · 15/04/2021 09:17

I’ve got stuff from both. The Trinny coverage is better and the BFF has SPF too. The serum is very good too but heavier coverage. I love the Trinny eye shadows too. I’ve got a very large collection :) I don’t particularly like the Trinny lip or cheek products as they’re drying.

For glossier the skin tint is nice but very light. Boy brow is good.

Haven’t tried glossier, but trinny BFF made me break out so badly, and I’m not someone prone to break outs. I also really hated the shit quality of the pots - lids broke on almost all of the five or so that I ordered within a few months. Didn’t feel luxury enough IMO.

LeeMiller · 15/04/2021 15:24

I haven't tried Trinny London but I really like Glossier skin tint. It is really sheer though, I don't look like I'm wearing makeup, it just evens out my skin and makes me look better and glowier. The concealor is great, light and moisturising and doesn't skink into fine lines.

Of the other products I've tried, the cloud paint cream blush is brilliant. I also like the mascara for a very natural look. The loose powder is nice too. I have thick brows and find the Boy Brow in brown a bit heavy, I would go for clear next time. The lip tubes are basically expensive vaseline and not worth it.

Goldieloxx · 15/04/2021 23:08

Stopped using glossier, the products seemed really watery and hated that everytime I ordered they sent me a plastic pouch, so bad for the environment

Fluffbutt · 16/04/2021 16:55

Trinny - BFF cream, Eye2eye and Just a Touch concealer

Glossier - cloud paint and boy brow.

Housewife2010 · 17/04/2021 07:33

Re the free Glossier pouches, you can check a box as you checkout to decline them. I always get them, then sell them on eBay!

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 17/04/2021 08:22

I don’t like the trim yet products. Too gimmicky in those silly pots.
Bb/cc cream wise my absolute favourite is the By Terry cc moisturiser. But others that I I like are the urban decay stay naked hydrate cream, Laura mercier and clinique cc cream. I don’t usually like clinique but the cc cream and the hydrate moisturiser have impressed me.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 17/04/2021 08:23

Trinny not trim met! Autocorrect fail

Also I’d say age depending as I’m 45. Dd is 15 and uses glossier products and the skin tint is great for her but doesn’t give enough colour to even out my red cheeks and uneven skin tone.
