What should I do with my hair?

Honest opinions welcome. I'm 56 if that helps.

I've grown out my dye in the last couple of years and I like it. It's got a lot of white in it and I don't regret it, I think it's a pretty colour. No intention of colouring it again. I also had it chopped into a pixie cut, having mostly had it shoulder length or longer.

However, over lock down, without a hairdresser it's grown into pretty much my 'toddler' haircut. I looked like Shirley Temple as a 3 year old. I've got lots of curls and I actually quite like it. After years of dyeing my hair and straightening it most of the time it feels very freeing to be pretty natural.

I just don't want to look like a granny with a perm.

So...do I go back to my pixie cut now hairdressers are opening?
Or just get it trimmed/grow it out a bit and keep with the curls?

I've hopefully managed to upload photos with my face blanked out.

My advice would be to go back to the pixie.
I think the first pic looks modern and fresh.

I think no 1 is a nice style but go even shorter on the sides. If you want to keep the curls I would grow it but it would probably take a couple of years and could you bear it?

Agree it's a lovely silver colour. I'd say grow it out a little longer and embrace your curls too, they'll probably relax a bit with the extra weight in length so not granny perm.

Pixie is lovely! You've got great brows too which really pulls it off. I'm jealous 🤣 enjoy being pampered x

Merename · 11/04/2021 21:16

I really like it as it is! Agree, lovely colour and curls. Understand what you mean by toddler cut but think it looks funky!

BalloonSlayer · 11/04/2021 21:16

Look you asked for an honest opinion, in the second picture you do look like a Granny with a perm. Probably because I can't see your face. I would go for the pixie cut. Sorry.

PinkCookie11 · 11/04/2021 21:17

I love the curls!!

AnyFucker · 11/04/2021 21:19

I would go for an undercut and slight asymmetric finish. Really show off the fantastic colour and condition.

PollyThePony · 11/04/2021 21:21

I also like the curls and colour. I'd grow it.

Cooltalkin · 11/04/2021 21:22

The pixie

User230 · 11/04/2021 21:23

Thanks folks! I did have an undercut at one point. I wasn't sure if they were so over.

I'm not very trendy!

@BalloonSlayer - Yep, I think you're right. That's my fear certainly, which is why I'm happy to have other people's opinions.

I love the curls, or you could have it cut shorter and then just leave it to grow out again- low maintenance Grin

PollyThePony · 11/04/2021 21:58

If you do go short, maybe this sort of thing?

I think it’s hard when it is both short and grey, to stop it from looking frumpy. I would go front/top heavy and very short on the sides. Just some spray to shape the top and you’ll have a fresh style!

Thepawtriarchy · 12/04/2021 04:18

This kind of thing? Pixie with longer layers.

wineymummy · 12/04/2021 12:17

Short sides and keep it longer on the top with the curls. No granny has an undercut!

Broadbeanssleeping · 12/04/2021 12:22

I vote for leave it. Really pretty.
