OK so I have always just used shower gel and water to wash my face daily , I know a cardinal sin 😱 plus pre covid would sleep in makeup after a night out. I need wise mumsnetters to help me devise a skincare regime. Wearing masks is also creating spotty chin. Am 52 with normal skin thanks in advance.

My rule is: don’t mess with your skin too much

I use UV day cream

Also vitamin C cream

Wash my face with water

Acids and toners break me out

Thank you for replying are there any particular brands I should look for?

Depends on your budget

I always check things are non-comedogenic (means non pore-clogging) I also avoid silicon (it’s not bad for skin, but if you absentmindedly touch your face or rub it, it pills/looks like crumbs on your face Grin)

Brands I like are la Roche Posay and REN

All REN stuff is lovely imo, never breaks me out but it’s also not groundbreaking or magic. Just nice and natural and suits my skin Smile

Am 49 fwiw, and my friends often say my skin looks nice (but that’s just because they are nice people I think Grin)

I’m 61 and fine Ren products are great for me. No nasties in them, gentle and nourishing. Also, they are vegan.
