What’s your favourite foundation?

I’m looking for a good foundation that lasts all day. Currently using Mac studio fix which is (in my opinion) useless! It’s thick, hard to put on (although I do use my fingers, maybe I need to try a sponge) and just sits in my pores. I’ve also got it cc which I really like but doesn’t have great staying power.

I’m looking for one for every day that will give good coverage and a dewy finish and another full coverage Matt finish.

I like a cc cream and blotting papers rather than something heavy to control the oil. I've read good things about setting spray on here which I intend to try.

N7 Hydraluminous.
Great cover but adds a light reflective glow too. It's my Holy grail and I have tried all the high end ones as well as the drugstore best kept secrets.

Prettybubblesintheair · 11/04/2021 14:38

Ooh thanks @Geamhradh. I’ve looked at it before but worried I’ll look sweaty rather than glowy! But might give it a go.

As per pp no7 hydra luminous
It’s glowy not sweaty and gives a med coverage
I prefer it to the more expensive Clinique foundations

DoubleTweenQueen · 11/04/2021 14:48

I like no7 too - I have their BB cream which is light and subtlety evens out skin tone, and foundation drops which you add to whichever moisturiser you want to use. I find it lighter and more natural / comfortable, and focus on defining eyes/cheeks/lips - am over 50 with good skin, but tending to dryness, and just want to look groomed rather than made up, if that makes sense

CarnageAtTheStGeorgesFete · 11/04/2021 18:00

A big vote here for No7 hydra luminous.
I also like Clinique moisture boost cc cream.

dudsville · 11/04/2021 18:05

If it's hard to put on and sits in your pores it may be that either your skin isn't suitably prepped or it's the wrong one for your skin type. You may need to do a google search for your skin type rather than get an eclectic mix from here.

ELDW. Anyone know what colour 4w3 henna would be in Mac?

emsyj37 · 11/04/2021 18:25

Try findation.com @Makeuplover - has always given me a good match

Arrierttyclock · 11/04/2021 21:42

I've just brought NARS long wear and I love it, it's buildable and is a great colour match

bretonyspears · 11/04/2021 22:07

L'Oreal Infallible 24hr Fresh Wear is incredible. Genuinely lasts all day, doesn't sit in pores... I moisturise with whatever I have to hand, wait a minute, rub in some Simple Protect n Glow Radiance Booster, wait another minute and then finally apply the L'Oreal foundation with my fingers.

Tinks15 · 11/04/2021 22:37

Nars radiant long wear 100%

Prettybubblesintheair · 12/04/2021 10:26

Thank you everyone. I’m seriously tempted by nars! I’m going to try the boots one and see how that goes.

Just wanted to thank everyone who recommended no7 hydroluminous, I bought it and absolutely love it! It goes on so much better than my Mac and while it covers blemishes it doesn’t cover up my freckles along with them! Really happy with it so thank you!

Just came to say hydraluminous! I wore if for our wedding and it lasted all day!
