Hair Help - Toner

So my hair is quite blonde (coloured) it’s quite light and looking brash, it’s looking more of a ‘fake’ blonde rather than a natural shade and I don’t think it’s doing me any favours, I don’t feel it suits me anymore.

I got in touch with my hairdresser and she suggested an ashy toner. Will this tone it down? I have quite a few tones of blonde running through my hair, some very light, some darker, but overall it just looks more yellowy.

Pic of the colour like it is now (right) & the ashier tone i’d like it to be, would you say this is achievable with an ash toner?

Yes, it will make it less yellow, use purple shampoo between toners.

Something like this ? They do a Lavender and a Rose toner too .

I might give this a try , I'm growing out grey but the end few inches are looking a bit brassy compared to my natural colour .
It's a 20 wash semi/p so I reckon if I give it a strand test (and patch test obvs) then what will happen is either :
nothing
it looks a bit naff but it'lll wash out and I wear a hat ar work
I'll look bloody lush Grin

I use Bleach London Silver Shampoo/Conditioner and Aveda Blue Malva conditioner to add a bit of oomph

Ahh just seen your Hairdresser is doing it not a DIY job

Ignore me (every other bugger does Grin )

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I used the lavender one and ended up looking like an old lady! It did wash out pretty fast with help from head & shoulders shampoo though.

I’ve tried quite a few purple shampoos but they don’t really do anything that is noticeable. I’m hoping the toner will make a difference, I really don’t suit this brashy blonde! My only worry is that it may turn green or grey?

If your hairdresser does it, it'll turn the colour intended. My only gripe with salon toners is that they last about two washes on my hair and then it's back to brassy. Now, I just mix Artic Fox grey and blue direct dyes into my conditioners so I get a tone every time I wash. If I had your level of yellow blonde, I'd be direct dying it with some pastel purple dye. It'll get you the same ashy blonde tone and work better than purple shampoo.
