Anyone take collagen supplements?

One of my friends takes one and is raving about it (however it’s from a multi level marketing company and I think she’s just trying to flog it to me!) I tried a sample and it made me feel sick so I’m not keen on taking a supplement unless it would give great results.

Has anyone here used it/noticed a difference?

It’s basically a protein powder isn’t it? It will be broken down in to peptides in the gut. It won’t directly form collagen in the skin or anything. It doesn’t make sense. It won’t do you any harm though.

I've just bought some having been quite persuaded by the info and people's testimonies.
Not everyone agrees that the fact it breaks down in the gut means it doesn't work. (Same would be true for any supplement).

I've just ordered vit c drops to mix into my moisturiser, haven't tried it yet, but hear it's effective.
We can hope Grin

You excrete extra protein. You don’t store it.

Useful if you don’t eat well I suppose.

I think it's interesting I've been looking into it, however it depends what comes along with it and if it's bovine or marine
