BB cream recommendations..

My teenage dd has got me using BB cream, I’ve quite red skin in winter but tan easily & usually wear no makeup in summer. I’ve tried a L’Oréal one which was a bit too light but just tried a Marcelle one that came in a Birchbox. But it’s £60! Is there a cheaper alternative that gives great coverage but is light too?

I like the boots No 7 one.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 11/04/2021 11:25

Theres another thread which has a few suggestions on it

LadyAgripina · 11/04/2021 11:54

I use NARS, following AOC video in Vogue. Grin I find excellent in covering my redness and freckles in a natural and lightweight way. I even tolerate my face in zoom when I use it (except jowls). Is not expensive, I bought it in Amazon.

Erborian! I bought it recently and its amazing

Chocolatepeanuts · 11/04/2021 13:10

Also love boots No 7, rate their CC cream as well.

Cowgran · 12/04/2021 01:52

I love Garnier BB cream. Great coverage but feels light.

Councilworker · 12/04/2021 01:56

I like Eborian too. Managed a full week of interviews through Teams plus two governor meetings without completely hating my appearance. Very light but gives good coverage and evens everything out.

I think a few people on here mentioned Sea Magik? I've never tried it though

pookypup · 12/04/2021 07:16

I’m 40 with a shiny T-zone, freckles and second Garnier BB but I use the oil free version. So cheap that I buy the light and medium, then blend/adjust as my skin tone warms up through the seasons.

Gives me an improved version of my own skin. Full foundation just looks heavy and aging now.

I've got no7 hydra luminous skin perfector.Love it.
light weight and moisturizing.I'm pale yellow toned skin and wearing fair.

Deathraystare · 12/04/2021 15:48

I like the Garnier one. I find the Nivea one too creamy (even on my dry skin!), Also the Avon one is very nice!

Ilikeviognier · 12/04/2021 17:28

I’ve got the sea Magik one- definitely recommend, reasonable price too, and it’s pretty natural as well as containing SPF.

allofthecheese · 12/04/2021 17:28

We've all been recommending sea magik on here.. now it's out of stock everywhere! Sigh!

ShowerOfShite · 12/04/2021 17:34

I love the Garnier original BB cream, really evens my skin out.

AnnieSnap · 12/04/2021 21:55

I have just got Ren Satin Perfection BB cream. I like it and it’s currently £20 on Lookfantastic. I really like a lot of Ren products. They are gentle, are not full of chemicals and are vegan. The BB has spf 15.

savvy7 · 13/04/2021 06:58

Garnier original BB for me too

justawoman · 13/04/2021 07:11

Another vote for Garnier. It’s one of the very few that is just about light enough for my very fair Celtic skin and doesn’t turn me orange. It’s dead cheap and is my go to for everyday - I only wear foundation on special occasions. It evens out my skin tone and hides the blemishes a bit (nobody tells you that you still get spots in your 40s!)

PeacheyPeach · 13/04/2021 23:33

Hi can I ask with the BB cream do you apply it with a brush or with your fingers x

The Ren BB cream states in its description that it can be applied with fingertips, a brush or other applicator. I had intended to use a brush, but it wasn’t handy when I first used it and I found it went on beautifully with fingertips, so I carried on applying it that way.

I just rub it in with my fingers, almost as if it was moisturiser or suncream. If necessary I blend some areas eg around jaw line a bit more with a makeup sponge.
Youngatheart00 · 13/04/2021 23:53

Laura Mercier does a tinted moisturiser which is more like a BB cream - good but light coverage. I love it and can’t see myself going back to foundation!
