I've been neglecting my skin over the past year, and trying to get back on top of it again.

I've restarted using The Ordinary retinol and azalaic acid on alternative nights , rosehip oil on a retinol night, and superdrug simply pure hydrating serum over buffet during the day with spf 50.

However, I'm in need of a really good moisturiser for the day that's not £££. I'm using up some of the ordinary moisturising factor but need something more moisturing at the moment.

I currently can't get out to shops so any recommendations would be great. Thanks.

Oh, and my skin is combination/oily!

Good old Aveeno. The green top one.

Robinonaspade · 11/04/2021 09:13

Thanks, off to Google! Used Aveeno body moisturiser ages ago, will investigate!

Thanks for recommendation of Aveeno, but I can only find body moisturiser, which when reading seems to be OK for use on the face. Is that the one you use jalopy?

Nivea Soft

SandysMam · 11/04/2021 11:16

I use Cetaphil Daily Defence Moisturiser with spf 50. Very light and doesn’t cause blocked pores. Not very glamorous but I highly recommend it! My skin looks good!

Robinonaspade · 11/04/2021 11:31

Thank you for those two recommendations.

I like nivea for my body, but for some reason brings me out in pimples on my face, I'm not sure why!

Not thought of cetaphil for moisturiser, we use the face cleanser, so that's a good idea to check out.

Many thanks

The inkey list peptide moisturiser. It’s brilliant.

Freshprincess · 12/04/2021 13:16

I use Olay With SPF 30. Think it’s called Total effects, the one in the pump bottle.

Robinonaspade · 12/04/2021 13:32

Thanks for two more options. The cetaphil was out of stock in my online supermarket shop, so will look at those two this afternoon. Smile

I've just bought the Garnier Lavandin face cream - the Rose one is nice too.

LightOfAThousandStars · 13/04/2021 17:02

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream is really good

HeyMicky · 13/04/2021 17:05

Vichy aqualia thermal volcano drop. Nice and juicy but very light

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 13/04/2021 18:05

Aldi moisturisers are fabulous and are often rated more highly than very expensive creams in magazines. I've been using them for years and not sure why you'd ever pay any more.

Mozartinmyfanjo · 13/04/2021 19:33

Not sure what your budget is, but Kate Somerville, DeliKate is amazing for moisturising. My skin was glowing (not greasy!) and felt so soft. l now use her goats milk cream, as needed something a little bit lighter.
Slightly cheaper: Drunk Elephant whipped cream, really good and non greasy.
Vichy/ La Roche Posay for something cheaper but good.
I have a very sensitive skin and unfortunately for my pocket cheap/ supermarket alternatives always lead to spots/greasy finish but not enough moisture and leave skin feeling tight and tired by the end of day.

ToooOldForThis · 13/04/2021 22:58

I like the aldi lacura one, I think it's meant to be like olay or nivea q10?
When I feel a bit more flush l use Pure from m&s, around £15

Robinonaspade · 14/04/2021 07:37

Wow! Thank you for all your suggestions. I shall have a good look through them all later this morning. Lots of choices!

At the moment I will be looking at the cheaper suggestions, but like someone mentioned above, I also come out in pimples and blotches with some cheaper moisturisers so will look at all those suggested. Keeping more expensive ones for my birthday list!

Thanks.

M&S pure hydrate day cream. £16 for 50 ml.

Koolandorthegang · 14/04/2021 08:15

There’s an Australian brand called Sukin, you can get them in health food shops, Boots or Lookfantastic. They have a range called super greens which is great. It’s not expensive and the ingredients are very good quality, all natural etc

mamajules32 · 14/04/2021 08:18

Is this face or body?

jellyfishinatent · 14/04/2021 08:18

Cerave!!!

Only one I get no pimples with and very hydrating, not greasy at all

FourTurnings · 14/04/2021 08:19

Origins.

Robinonaspade · 14/04/2021 08:30

Thanks! There's so many different brands which is useful.

I'm just writing a list of all the recommendations at the moment, think I shall get a cuppa later and have a good look on line as I need to order soon!

Many thanks.

Sorry, moisturiser recommendations were for my face.

However, having just used last if my nivea body lotion this morning, I need to order some body moisturiser too! Going to look at deals on line as I can use most brands on my body, but my face doesn't like nivea and a few others! Strange!!!

jalopy · 22/04/2021 08:05

Yes, I use the Aveeno body one on the face. It's lovely.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2021 08:42

I like the Superdrug Optimum ( have a couple on the go from a BOGOF , but I'm not sure if they still have the full range )
Pump bottle so you only dispense what you need . But its hard to tell when its empty Hmm

DD likes the Sukin range , there's a Rose one which is very gentle on her skin

Aldi have some good ones but they're not in regular stock .
