What colour tops should I wear with these jeans?

I am a bit fed up with some of the stuff I'm wearing. I can't really justify getting a whole new wardrobe, but I realised that I have these green jeans, and if I were to pair them with different tops, that would be out of my comfort zone a little, and a step in the right direction.

So up until now I've only ever worn them with black or grey (I can't really wear white). So what other colours will go? Any advice gratefully received!

Pink can look nice with green

TeaAddict235 · 10/04/2021 17:57

A thick knit wine red jumper. Just to midriff?
Or a slimline wine red cardigan (H&M style)?

A greyish sliver cardigan?

Mustard, or a different (but complimentary) shade of green.

I can see this with a light cream top under a shorter chunky knit brown cardigan - earthy tones. Or an oat coloured oversized top. Would you wear white with a stripe pattern? I also like to sometimes pair greens with burgandy.

Burnt orange

Thank you all! This is very helpful! I was always terrified to wear them with a colour, but I am pleased that you all seem to think this will work! I will find something which will go. It will be good to be able to expand my style a little bit!

Cream or grey I reckon.

Toilenstripes · 10/04/2021 20:03

I’d wear blue chambray with them but I’m older so that might not be fashionable.

applecatchers36 · 10/04/2021 20:05

Mustard or burnt orange would be a nice contrast

Twintub · 10/04/2021 20:08

Fushia pink looks striking with green

BreakfastOfWaffles · 10/04/2021 20:10

A floral shirt maybe?

Iamneverfull · 10/04/2021 20:12

Cream/ivory

notagainmummy · 10/04/2021 20:16

cream, lemon yellow, pinks, ivory, mustard

Lampan · 10/04/2021 20:18

Lilac?

Just to add, years ago I had 'my colours' analysed by one of the companies that do this - a personal consultant, who then gave me a little pack of swatches of my colours to take out clothes shopping. It was absolutely life changing - I went from having no idea what suited me to (eventually) having a wardrobe where everything goes with everything, and a wider variety of colours than I had dared try before. Worth every penny.

I've got a pair this colour and quite like them with a leopard print top 😊

Graphista · 10/04/2021 20:52

I love the colour green and wear it all the time (redhead it suits me)

With that particular shade of green you can wear:

Other greens - I would suggest mint, vibrant leaf green but would avoid khaki

Neutrals in the beige palette go with anything but would go especially well with this

Maroon

Burnt orange or tan type colours

Cerise pink

Navy

A deep mauve

Prints and patterns whatever you like but as you're wanting to make a change be bold.

Lemon or mustard yellow

2021Vision · 10/04/2021 21:02

Impossible to know unless we know your colouring. I could only wear pink, a mixed neutral shirt e.g floral with the green in and other colours or a chunky oatmeal colour knit. Yes mustard would look nice but I can't wear that or orange due to my skin tone.

Think about the colours that suit your face and then look at which of those go with the trousers. This is why I like jeans, anything goes!

Anything cream or beige coloured, or anything tan, anything muted too with a grey ish tone.
