...At Hush
I told myself I’ll send some back but I suspect I won’t. Not sure why I am sharing, maybe because I’m feeling a bit lavish or maybe because I did it within 20 minutes of having a little spat with the husband.

The weird thing is, I’m not always convinced I even like Hush....
So this was a fun read for you all... Grin

I have just been to a funeral where the dress code was wear bright colours. I did. A yellow coat. The ladies were all in shades of pink, blue, yellow, floral and geometric. The guys has colourful ties. No black. It was actually a celebration of life.

We don’t all have to copy Queen Victoria! Or indeed the present Royal Family. We are allowed to have our own ideas. Wear what the person who has died would appreciate.

@tinseloatcake

I just spent 300 mostly in la redoute in a bereavement haze. (My ddad, who is not prince philip).

I actually feel a bit better for the first time this week.... it was worth it so far.

I bought a yellow dress. Yellow was his fav colour.

Very sweet purchase. I hope you enjoy your yellow dress.

The clothes have arrived and I am keeping them all. My favourite is the playsuit! I’ve also just picked up an absolute bargain in anthropology (real life shopping). A jumper reduced from £90 to £20! It’s a neon yellow oversized thing and will look lovely over the khaki play suit or jumpsuit when it’s cooler.

@tinseloatcake how are you? I hope the funeral plans are going ok and your yellow dress is as lovely as you hoped.

Ah, glad you like it all! Anthropologie jumper sounds fab!

Op, you described my dh. The lack of common sense is quite unbelievable for an intelligent man. I feel i have permission to now spend a lot of money in Hush now when he does something that is bananas, like forgetting where he left my car and reporting it stolen to the police, only to find it just further on from where he left it. The latest was throwing away my tablets by mistake at the weekend which made me very ill until I could get some more, which isn’t easy out of hours. The list is endless!

Procrastatron · 14/04/2021 18:24

Wow @Happymum12345 your DH makes mine seem logical and organised. I prescribe a much much more indulgent shopping spree than mine! Enjoy!!

tinseloatcake sorry about the loss of your dad.

Definately wear the yellow dress! When my dad died a family member rocked up in a yellow Panama hat, yellow linen shirt and shorts. He looked like a Columbian drug lord, especially as he is very quite and not very social so had an air of mystery about him Grin

LunaTheCat · 14/04/2021 19:36

Oh sorry about your loss.
I love a good and indulgent spend up.
Enjoy your things
I love yellow too - bought a bright yellow cos dress in our equivalent e bay and gets compliments every time!

Before reading your post I had not heard of Hush. Googled them and have to say thank you very much !

I spent about £800 in LK Bennett’s the day after my mum died. Retail therapy is a real thing.
