Retinol cream help

I've been using the ordinary retinol in squalane (sp?) for a while with no issues - not sure it actually does much tbh. Recently I bought olay retinol eye cream as I have milia under my eyes and read that retinol could help.
Been using it for about a week and now the skin under my eyes is really dry and flaky. Do I persevere or stop to give my skin a break? Any suggestions for a moisturising eye cream for day time to help?

How often are you using it? I think a good rule of thumb is once per week per decade - so 4 x per week if you are in your 40s. You might have to build up to that.

Oops I've been using it every night. I'm 33. So cut down to 3 x per week then?

Yes I think everyday use is possibly a bit much.
