I want a long floral maxi dress. Something that a girl in a Flake ad would wear

But sadly I can't find it.

You know what I mean, the sort of dress that demands a floppy hat and a wildflower meadow. A dress with fabric that swooshes.
A dress that screams HELLO THE 70's!

Anyone come across anything this glorious?
A puff sleeve would be a definite advantage.

I’ve just ordered a couple of dresses from Olive. We’ll see how the one size thing works... I’m not entirely convinced.

Also check out: christydawn.com/collections/dresses

Expensive but boho goals!

The Olive dress and the other link are both good, Coachee. Thanks for these

Hang on! One size!
What craziness is this now?

I have to say that both my Olive dresses will sadly be going back. I’d ordered the Georgie pocket dress which was awful, shapeless with misaligned seams, would probably always looked crinkled and did absolutely nothing for me!

The daisy gingham dress was much nicer but unfortunately just too large for my small frame.

I am SO tempted to order a christy dawn dress but they are £££!

This dress is gorgeous seen it on someone in a Facebook style group and it's really beautiful 🤩

Oh, that's interesting, thanks for getting back with that info.

Surely to goodness it's nearly sale time?!

I like the look of these hope and ivy ones, but I’ve never ordered from them and have no idea what they are like

I’m only 5’ 3” I’d probably have to wear stilts to wear them Grin

Another dreamy but pricy one.

Have a look at All About Audrey, boutique based in Brighton but gorgeous dresses made from upcycled sari fabric and lovely online shop.

Oh this is good! I'm feeling my inner Flake girl warming up now.
Thanks for this

@Snowplop

This is wonderful but I think they're being rather optimistic with their pricing

Glorious, but I need at least another 2 foot of fabric

Ah. Came on to suggest Zimmermann but

Do not. I repeat, do not check Zimmermann. You will weep into your overfilled bath

BigBirdsbird · 10/04/2021 07:03

Many thanks everyone for the links to places I've not discovered before.

I discovered this beauty on ebay, which is exactly what I'm after, but sadly they wish for more money than I have in my piggy bank right now. Massive sigh.

Grin you didn't listen to my warnings!

Cowbells · 10/04/2021 10:12

If you are on a budget, how about this which is a bit like the Ebay one. I have bought dresses from Shein before and have been really impressed by the cut and quality for the price. They may look like a dodgy online company but my experience is they are reliable and great value. They have loads of floral floaty things at the moment.

BigBirdsbird · 10/04/2021 11:40

Thanks Cowbells, I think I was under the impression that Shein quality was low but I'm happy to be told otherwise.

I'm going to be honest and say that now that I've had my eyes opened to Zimmermann (trawled the internet for the last 2 hours sighing and clutching my chest at all the things I can't ever afford and will never have) I'm not sure I'm ever going to bother shopping again.
I can't see the joy in it.

I suspect the sleeves may be OTT but this is very pretty and swooshy!

Poppins2016 · 10/04/2021 11:57

A couple of other ideas:

Superdry

and another Superdry

Poppins2016 · 10/04/2021 12:08

seriously floral

I've been lusting after this for a while, might just take the plunge!

I’ve got a couple of winters maxis from here and they skim my house at 5’8 and 32” inside leg.

Shein is obviously not going to match Zimmerman, but the stuff I've had from them is better than low-end High Street - similar to H&M but half the price.

Not sure I dare look up Zimmerman.
