Red spot after herpes won't fade!

Please help. I had a herpes breakout about 7 weeks ago and it was pretty nasty one. I had lots of lesions on my lips. Thankfully it's all over and the scabs have healed and fallen off, but one of those (the one that I unfortunately caught while getting dressed and it fell off before it healed fully), in the corner of my mouth, has left a red mark now and even after all this time it's not fading whatsoever. It's pretty bright red and frankly looks awful, as if I have a permanent cold sore now. Has anyone experienced it? What can I use to get rid of it? Is there a cream, or maybe a laser treatment?

Thank you!

La roche posay cicabalm cream is excellent for healing and also cymex. I do get the same red marks if they get bad so I sympathise but they do eventually fade.

Superdrug allow you to buy a prescription for anti virals for cold sores which you can keep in the house and then take as soon as you feel a tingle. I really recommend this as if you hit it hard in the first 36 hours the scabbing is really really reduced (and therefore the scarring and marks afterwards)

@FreeButtonBee thank you so much! That's just what I needed. I've just ordered the first cream and even paid for the next day delivery Grin (I'm that desperate).
