SLS free Shampoo bars - feels yuck!

This is such a first world problem but I don't know anyone else who uses shampoo bars so would love some advice.

I bought a shampoo bar and separate conditioner after reading an ariticle on mumsnet and picked this out of the list as it seemed most environmentally conscious and had good reviews.

It's been an awful 2 months transition where I'm still not seeing any results. I usually wash twice a week (thanks to lockdown and not seeing many people in real life!) but it feels so greasy by the next day after washing. I have experimented by ditching the conditioner it came with and using apple cider vinegar once a week too.

I know lots of mums swear by shampoo bars and perhaps I just need to try something else or persevere with this one...?
Any advice or tips on what may work better??

To add, it also feels very knotty and not the nicest of texture or shine. By day three it's so greasy!

I'm using one by Faith in Nature, followed by Garnier watermelon conditioner and feel my hair is in great condition. I have very fine thin hair which has always needed washing minimum every other day no matter what I use but due to exercising it's getting washed daily at present.

Thanks! I researched a brand called ethique and bought some samples. I think it's doing a better job as I'm 3 days in and it's not that greasy. Hopefully this one works.
I got the conditioner soap bar too but it wasn't easy getting it on the hair, doesn't lather and feels like you've not added any when trying. Will look into the watermelon garnier conditioner.
