Sorry if this has been covered before. I had a quick look but didn’t see anything.
My 12.5 hour shifts have only now started impacting on my skin as I’m a student so only do blocks of work. I’m sure our nhs trust has moved to cheaper masks since my last placement as I haven’t had this issue before. Now my skin around my mouth is sore, cracked and dry and the area around my eyes as well. It feels inflamed and itchy too.
Unfortunately I have another 5 weeks to go and so far I have tried hydrocortisone cream, savlon, Vaseline and baby oilatum junior. My usual Clinique dramatically different cream is okay but isn’t really getting rid of the irritation Unfortunately I can’t take an antihistamine as they all make me drowsy.
I wondered if anyone here had found a magical solution. Many thanks.
