Closed toe sandals that aren't espadrilles?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2021 12:32

I'm looking for some summer weight sandals for work, so they must be closed toe but every search seems to lead me to espadrilles which don't seem smart enough. I work in a school office so I do need to be fairly smart, but not overly so. Neutral colour if possible or cheap enough to buy multiple pairs. Don't mind a small heel or a flat, and I have very wide feet so that often affects what I can wear.

Any suggestions oh wise style and beauty squad?

Any good? They're wide fit.

Look at brands like fitflops, clarks, gabor, ecco, hotter, pikolinos, josef siebel (sp?) etc
Also worth a try M&S, JL, Tu, Asda

@KirstenBlest those are great, I wish they did them in a tan though!

Look at Menorcan sandals.

HundredMilesAnHour · 07/04/2021 16:12

I'm assuming these are way over budget but in case they're not:

m0jit0 · 07/04/2021 16:15

I bought these a while ago, think they might come in other colours too.

@HundredMilesAnHour - those are gorgeous!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2021 17:55

@m0jit0 where are they from please? I have spent the last 2 summers in sketchers bobs and they seem similar

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2021 17:55

@HundredMilesAnHour they are a bit too pricey, but thanks

@DancesWithDaffodils they are lovely, I'm happy to pay that much if I wear them. Do they have franchises or are they always online?

m0jit0 · 07/04/2021 17:57

@thenewaveragebear1983 they are fit flop- I got mine from brand alley Smile

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2021 17:58

@m0jit0 amazing, thank you

@thenewaveragebear1983 mine were bought abroad in a shop. No idea about where you'd try some in in the UK, sorry.

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2021 19:09

I have the menorcan ones. They are open-toed but they cover most of my toes. I wouldn't wear them otherwise.

@KirstenBlest I have to have fully covered toes unfortunately for work

@DancesWithDaffodils and others, FYI there are lots of the El naturalista shoes on Amazon at what looks to be heavy discounts, unfortunately not my size in the styles I like.

They have reminded of Art sandals though which I have had over the years and have looked up a few pairs of those.

You can get the Fit Flop Cova ones for around £30 if you Google. I got mine from Fit Flop website for £25 a few years ago. Brand Alley and Ebay both have them cheaper.

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2021 19:25

How about mary jane shoes?

not quite CT

Closed toe sandals
rieker cts in tan

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2021 19:27

The first of those links are very nice but a bit £££

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2021 19:48

I do like the Cova but I'm not finding them cheaper in my size. I don't mind spending full price on them though if they are comfy and fit well. I have such trouble every year with shoes/sandals. I wonder if I should just stick to a ballet pump for work and get the sandals that I know for casual.
At least shops open on Monday!

They are really comfy. Keep an eye out for the sale, I got mine at the end of a summer. They'll do you next year Grin
