Make up help - red lipstick +?

Pre Covid, I wore contact lenses every day and I wore usually dark brown liquid eyeliner, black mascara, tinted moisturiser, blusher, powder on my nose, and usually either lip balm or a fairly natural lipstick. Since Covid, I have started wearing my glasses nearly all the time but discovered that bright lipstick looks great on Zoom and like you have made an effort with minimal anything else, and I do love it. However, returning to the office and real life probably means I need to/want to go back to a bit more, but concerned that liquid eyeliner and red lipstick is too much for daytime. What do you think? What looks nice but not too "40s fancy dress"? Pencil eyeliner (in what colour - I have brown eyes and hair, pale skin)? Or should I give up the red lipstick?

How about keeping the red lipstick and swapping the liquid eyeliner for tightliner? (wouldn't need a new product, it's just applying the eyeliner to a different part of the eye) - might be a bit more subtle?

Tightling makes a huge impact without the harsh liner look . I used a fibre pen (I think Revolution or Elf) , make sure you let it dry well

I have similar colour , Celtic skin, brown eyes , brown ( going grey) hair .
I cannot wear red lipstick without looking like a Drag Queen Hmm

Would a lipstain be better ? It'll last .well

And I love purple , grey , silver or navy liner (Barry M Metalittics pencil is good) softer than black under my bottom lashes

How do you do tightlining & doesn’t it irritate your eyes?

I wear red lipstick every day, but don’t do much eye-wise - usually a single nude-y eyeshadow, curl my eyelashes, and mascara. I have brown hair, green eyes, and fairly dark skin for a white person, the kind that tans in a blink of sun.

Tight lining gave me eye problems and I got told off by the opticians so stopped doing it. I use a little dark brown powder instead as a more subtle eyeliner.
I love red lipstick but it feels a bit much for my colouring/ features so I use bright red lipstick as a lip stain to give a more subtle effect. Still gives a statement and looks great but not as bold. I just dab the lipstick on using my fingers instead of applying it as you normally would. You can layer this up to give as much or as little colour as you wsnt

Thanks all (had to Google tightlining!). Obviously I need to have a play...
