Please can you lovely lot be my personal shoppers? I'm strictly jeans and top normally, dd lives in jodhpurs or school uniform and we've just been told there's a family wedding in 6 weeks! I don't actually own anything smart and no idea where to start!!

What is your clothes size and height?
What parts of your body do you like to show off, and which bits do you prefer to hide?

Would you prefer smart trousers/party top or dress/jumpsuit?

confusednortherner · 05/04/2021 21:00

I'm about 5'4 12 st, hopefully less by wedding and hate my tummy! Legs aren't bad so don't mind showing them but equally I'm comfy in trousers so might be happier in them.

John Lewis has loads of occasion dresses in the sale. Order a load and then send back what doesn’t fit.

Palavah · 05/04/2021 21:26

Jumpsuit? Looks smarter than separate trousers and top.

Something like this from phase eight sale? www.johnlewis.com/phase-eight-vita-spot-midi-dress-black-white/p5129221
Or this one www.johnlewis.com/phase-eight-fran-lace-dress-blue/p4081678
There's loads reduced at the moment

BadlydoneHelen · 05/04/2021 23:02

I am a similar height to you and think jumpsuits can be tricky - easy to look like you're wearing overalls when you have short legs!

Thanks all I'll get looking, John Lewis have loads!
Dd is going to try a friend's jumpsuit so probably leave them to her as she's got the long legs 😀

@confusednortherner
TKMaxx have lots of dresses on the website, some designer brands with HUGE savings.

I'm wishing I was going somewhere to buy one!

confusednortherner · 06/04/2021 20:16

Oh that's a good idea, will look there too.
