What kind of trainers do you use that look "elegant"?

I never quite manage to get that effortless and stylish look that some women manage with trainers and pants. I always look like an overweight person going to the gym. I know that being overweight doesn't help 😓 I am a 16 UK. Many thanks for any advice

@MissBarbary

My thoughts too. Not trainers but plimsoles, sneakers and what I remember back in the 70’s tennis shoes

IMHO the only elegant trainer is a white leather slip on one - laces take away from an elegant/sleek look

I wear Adidas Superstars in white, but mine have vivid hologram-style stripes (I can't find a better term!).

I have small feet and am a tubby short-arse, but I manage to pull it off somehow. Break them in (mine rubbed my heels to the back end of buggery), and they'll work with loads of outfits.

This thread has got me interested now. Just viewed the ‘Stan Smith’ tennis shoes. Love the Kermit 🐸. Definitely not elegant but tremendous fun, I would wear them with floaty dresses & skirts as well as cropped pants/trousers in the summer.🙂

If you’re looking for a bit of elegance with style & comfort try Zaccys
They have a mega sale at the moment & a donation from every pair goes to children with cancer charity

I have bought Lacoste and they are all white with a satin finish. They look gorgeous with jeans or dresses

Eaumyword · 17/04/2021 18:45

I don't know if you'd call them elegant, but comfort was key for my arthritic toes.
I've bought black soft leather Nike Vintage Courts and they look nice with black jeans and trousers.
I wanted Stan Smiths but omg, they killed my feet just attempting to try them on!

Is this a scam by the the chinese trainer makers trying to find out what style to make?
Trainers elegantGrin

Plain white and slim is the best way to go if you are trying to be as elegant as possible . Any sports trainers need a cool look to pull off tbh .
