Hello, it is my birthday coming up and I would love a necklace that I could wear everyday. Does anyone have any recommendations? Husband is treating me so budget up to £300. Thank you!

Monica Vinander would be my recommendation. Have a lovely birthday!

Thank you so much, I'll have a look as never heard of it!

Take a look at www.oaklandjewellery.com, my friend is the jeweller and she makes some beautiful pieces.

What style of jewelry do you like and wear OP?
I only really wear fairly plain gold pendants that I can dress up or down so usually buy from Rachel Jackson, Monica Vinader, Alighieri, Missoma, Astrid & Miyu, Kirsten Ash.

They're all probably below budget (ranging from about £80-£200) rather than 'fine jewellery' but are what I generally wear casually day to day.

Selfridges carry several of the above brands and I do really like browsing their jewellery hall (albeit you might have to do it virtually) as well as some higher budget and more quirky brands, definitely worth a browse for inspiration.

Otherwise Etsy, you could look for something vintage or have a bespoke piece made.

Thank you, I'll check these out. I normally wear my wedding rings which are white
Gold but I don't normally wear any other jewellery. It's obviously a tricky time to look on shops. Thank you so much for these suggestions, I'll check them out.

Have a look here OP

www.kirstielemarque.com/

But might be a bit too sparkly for everyday.

If you want something simpler with clean lines look at Sif Jakobs or Georg Jensen.

bendmeoverbackwards · 05/04/2021 20:16

Alex Monroe is another possibility

Alleycat12 · 05/04/2021 20:48

Thank you, I will have a look. Silly question maybe, could I wear a yellow gold necklace even though my rings are white? I always thought you had to stick to one but I really like some of the yellow gold.

@Alleycat12 I don’t think it matters at all, my rings are white and I wear a mixture of white and yellow gold for necklaces and earrings. Hope you find something you like!

Hello!

I'd recommend having a look at www.aetla.co.uk - they have a great selection of fine jewellery pieces from UK and abroad (all made ethically too which is pretty cool) such as Wwake, Ruth Tomlinson, Grainne Morton etc

for £300-ish you could go for something like this www.aetla.co.uk/collections/necklace/products/irregular-pearl-necklace ?

Good luck with your search!

Wright & Teague have Sterling silver necklaces made in their London workshop. Try Dinny Hall too.

Look at Monica Vinader. I’ve been sent early access to their sale and the reductions are UNBELIEVABLE!

CalamityClam · 22/12/2022 23:22

My favourite is Carat London.

Mouthfulofquiz · 23/12/2022 07:41

I would go to a vintage jewellers and get a solid gold necklace, you would be able to get a really nice strong one that you could wear every day. I’m sure lots of suggestions above are places that use gold vermeil which is basically gold plating.
