Basic diamond pendant necklace

Hi s&bers - I am looking for a basic diamond pendant necklace - really just a round brilliant cut mounted on a pretty plain setting and on a normal chain. White gold, and I’d like at c 0.5ct diamond of a reasonable colour.

Looking around it seems ridiculous to buy one “made”, the mark up on both the diamond and the white gold seems crazy given there is so little design aspect in it. Can people recommend a place to just get a loose diamond set in this way? Blue Nile? Others?

Also - am being relentlessly marketed to by vrai (thanks google algorithms!) Are these diamonds any good?

Thanks!

I have a plain 6 prong setting and diamond from Whiteflash in the USA. Miles cheaper than what I could get locally and 100 times better. They are super sparkly diamonds and mine is an I colour but you would not realise at all.
Blue Nike would most likely be your best bet. I am a member of the Pricescope forum and they have a list of the best diamond parameters so you can choose a good stone. I can find it if you are interested

Thank you! I will have a look at whiteflash, I do go to the US pretty regularly for work so could potentially make that work.

My feeling is that best value for a diamond of ~0.5ct is actually at the 0.47/8 mark, with around G. Would be interested if that’s right!

@fruitandflowers that will be handy travelling to the US. These are the parameters they use, to select GIA excellent and above:
table: 54-58
depth: 60-62.3
crown angle: 34-35.0
pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9
I brought another diamond from Whiteflash last November and had it made until a custom ring locally as I was unsure of my ring size and didn’t want the sending it back and forwards hassle. The jeweller was really impressed with the diamond and commented that it sparkles like crazy.

@Elsabet thank you that’s incredibly helpful!
