I have exactly the same issue. So no help but following with interest

GrumpyHoonMain · 02/04/2021 23:20

There is eyecream with spf available but out of stock almost everywhere. Lancaster eye contour cream with spf 50 or skinceuticals are supposed to be amazing

BendyBusBuggy · 03/04/2021 00:27

I use this: www.ultrasun.com/en-GB/shop/face/product/uv-mineral-eye-protection-spf-30/15

Sold in supermarkets

Greenmarmalade · 03/04/2021 00:30

I’m allergic to lots of them too, as are my kids. I’m not allergic to piz buin.

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 03/04/2021 00:36

I'm very allergic-y, it is a matter of trial and error but one thing I would say is that I don't put sunscreen anywhere near my eyes - I wear huge (prescription) sunglasses and rely on them to protect the under eye area.

alexdgr8 · 03/04/2021 00:37

wear good large sunglasses.

La Roche Posay Antihelios Hydrating sun cream. I have hard contact lenses and this is the only sunscreen I've found that does not irritate my eyes. I think it's partly because it sticks to your skin like glue and does not migrate into your eyes. Make up applied on top of it sticks too.

wingsnthat · 03/04/2021 01:21

What do you use? I use Kiehl’s without issue, have also used the la roche posay invisible mist too which doesn’t irritate my eyes

MoltonSilver · 03/04/2021 01:22

I love this spray. It goes on like a fine mist and feels like nothing on the skin but it holds up to the must intense sunshine and it doesn't bother me eyes like most creams do.

I have the same problem. Anything that goes near my eyes makes them water and itchy all day long. I have recently had to change my mascara as a result. I changed to Clinique and the issue's gone, so I tried their City Block and I've had no issues whatsoever. It's also a great primer.

DinosaurDiana · 03/04/2021 07:30

Have you tried the Boots face one ?
I struggle with stinging when sun cream gets in my eyes, but not with this one.

DarnTooting · 03/04/2021 08:03

DS has this problem - anything we tried on his face gives red watery eyes poor thing. There were a few expensive brands from the chemist we used when he was tiny but the best overall is the Amber Solaire kids sensitive mist. We spray onto our hands then rub into his face

Lockdownlucy76 · 03/04/2021 08:14

Yes. This always happened to me. For years. I started buying more expensive cream for my face. Clinique, Ultrasun and Roche Posay I have used and it stopped the eye watering.

Rangoon · 03/04/2021 08:40

My son reacted to so many sunblocks and came out in an interesting collection of welts and blotches while I had an enormous supply of different sunblocks. He reacted to mineral sunblocks as well because there is always a carrier cream or lotion and almost anything wet will have preservatives. The only ones that he didn't react to were Cetaphil sunblocks which are a chemical block. I just mention that in case it's of use to anybody and obviously might not work for everybody.

I have really allergic eyes. I don't mean sensitive but really allergic swollen shut reactions. Sunblock can soak into the skin and can get to the eyes even if it wasn't put that close. I don't go higher than underside of my cheekbones and wear sunglasses. I like the Roche Posay one - haven't tried that one out of my son yet.

inisfree · 03/04/2021 10:31

I have exactly the same problem, even everyday moisturisers with SPF irritate my eyes. However, I can wear Ultrasun all day long with no reaction.

Vursayles · 03/04/2021 10:34

Have you tried Altruist? It’s not too expensive and is made by a dermatologist. Think it’s available on Amazon.

JoanDarc · 03/04/2021 11:49

I wear soft contact lenses and have had itchy sore eyes in the past from sunscreen. (Frezyderm, I’m looking at you!)
I now use eucerin everyday and haven’t had any issues, including when using for exercise and getting all sweaty, it doesn’t seem to irritate.

Mineral sunscreen should be worn around the eyes, if you are using a chemical sunscreen around there then that's probably why your eyes are irritated.
