Anyone used it? It’s expensive. Is it worth it?

Asking for a tired wrinkly friend who’s been taken off HRT and is really (really) feeling her age.

I bought some about 4 months ago. It was WAY more than I would spend on skincare normally but I decided to give it a go because I got a discount code (so basically got it for half price). I can't honestly say I've seen a huge difference. I should say that my skin is relatively good for my age (50) but I have one quite deep line on my forehead that I was targeting. It MIGHT have improved slightly, but I can't be sure and don't think I'll buy more when my current tube runs out.

Thanks for that @MumofPsuedoAdult. Mind if I ask, which product are you using?

I’m currently using Avene stuff which I like but I wanted to see MORE! Perhaps, there is no more 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm using a Strivectin eye cream (can't remember name) which is nice but nothing special. To be honest get more benefits from No7 eye cream and line reducer serum.

I'm using the anti-wrinkle SD Advanced. It came with an eye cream too which didn't agree with me (it made my under eyes puffy) so when my face cream finishes I'm going to use the eye cream on my forehead. I've already decided that when all the Strivectin runs out I'm going to try The Inkey List peptide moisturiser.

@Ponks... thanks.

That’s the thing isn’t it? Skin cream companies make incredible claims and then ... disappointment. And often, the reviews can be misleading.

One of the best moisturisers I’ve used has been Nivea Q10 60+ (I’m 60 next year). Certainly, I’d buy it again. Others, not so much. Once spent a small fortune on Estée Lauder and it did nothing for me, whatsoever. It also made my foundation pil dreadfully and the EL Counter lady told me it might be better to try an EL foundation. Good grief, where does it end?

I’m not sure if I’ve ever tried No7. Perhaps I’ll read some reviews 🙄

In my (admittedly limited) experience of skincare, you have to find what works for you as there is definitely not a one size fits all.

Ponks · 02/04/2021 22:41

@HeraInTheHereAndNow ah but it can be fun trying all the different brands and products. I got the Strivectin cream in some offer, and it is fine, and a huge tube, but I guess nothing is really going to help the crepey under eye area that much. I've used No7 for years and like it but just getting into Medik8, which is pricey but can always find an offer code.

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 03/04/2021 18:23

Oh good grief! I gave in because they have a 25% Off Spring offer and I read Caroline Hirons raving about it.

On the other hand, I’ve been NOWHERE in over 12 months. Like everyone else really so, you get a big tube and it equates to £32 for 50ml. I’ve spent more and got nothing much in return.

I’ll consider it an experiment.
