Following my "holiday skin" thread, I've decided that I'll do some proper fake tanning. So I'm asking for your recommendations, including these details:

  • colour
  • coverage
  • ease of application
  • speed of drying
  • odour, or lack of
  • price

Thanks!

Morning, I love st tropez watermelon moisturising gradual tan, I usually get it from boots when they have it on buy one get one half price 😁

Pressed too soon , it has a nice smell and gives a lovely colour , it doesn't streak with it being gradual and you can use it on your face .

Samantha Sona. They’re an Aussie brand but offer express shipping to the UK.

  • colour - lovely caramel brown, not at all orange
  • coverage - no streaks
  • ease of application - it’s a lotion so easy to apply
  • speed of drying - dries in a couple of minutes
  • odour, or lack of - no smell at all.
  • price - $45 (not sure how much in £).

Thanks! @Starbonnet123, how often do you apply the ST gradual tan? As I was finding a gradual tan a faff, and only want to apply once a week.

@HermioneMakepeace, that brand sounds fab! I'll check it out.

Get something like bperfect or Bella mianta which are mousses that dry really quickly so you don't have the horrible sticky feeling. Lovely colour too! Definitely the easiest way. Gradual ones annoy me personally.

I keep seeing one on Insta called Bronzie I believe that’s an Aussie brand. I haven’t tried it yet myself but looks good so thinking of giving it a go. I usually use Bondi Sands

Starbonnet123 · 02/04/2021 18:52

@Umbivalent I was applying it 2-3 times a week after a shower , I always use moisturiser after a shower anyway so I used the st tropez instead 😁

I can recommend any of the mouse ones such as vita liberata or iconic bronze. The gradual ones are annoying for me too. Just be careful around the feet, knees & wrists... extra moisturizer & you you should be ok.

Thanks all. Sounds like, whatever the brand, a mousse is the way to go! Star
