Can anyone recommend a good detangle spray that actually works for my 9 year old DD? Long hair gets quite knotty despite using conditioner.

Something I know a bit about. Tried so many!! Milk shake hair detangler is the best we have ever had. It costs a fortune. But it is worth every penny

Findahouse21 · 30/03/2021 19:45

I make my own - generous dollop of conditioner, few drops of tea tree oil and fill nearly to the top with water. Vigorous shakes and you're good to go

Aussie hair oil.

Try Natural World Brazilian Keratin treatment - £5 on Amazon. It is amazing, it was recommended on here and I use it on my hair and my DD’s snaggly and knotty hair - it’s amazing stuff.

Try mane and tail it’s the only one that’s worked for my daughters and we’ve tried a lot!

Blindstupid · 30/03/2021 21:03

My 2 dd’s have a tangle teezer hair brush .... they swear by them, even works without conditioning their hair!

Roselilly36 · 30/03/2021 21:09

Buy a wet & dry brush OP, they are great for knotty hair, use when hair is wet and it doesn’t hurt or pull when going through the hair.

My dd has mental curls. The only thing that gets through the dreadlocks is Original sprout miracle detangler, it seems pricey but the bottle lasts us a good 5/6 months, and a happy hairbrush (fake, from amazon)

Also look into your conditioner, the more natural the better and one with lots of "slip" allows for wet detangling

I've spend a blooming fortune over the years

Palmers coconut leave in conditioner. It works really well and smells beautiful.

L’Oréal wonder water is very good. My hair tangled easily when getting washed and it is like silk after I have applied this. I use conditioner after too.

Watching!

This Revlon one it has 22,000 brilliant reviews. I have it in two scents and it is amazing for detangling. My daughter calls it magic spray!!

Original Sprout Miracle Detangler for Babies and Up plus a Tangle Teaser the Wet Detangler hairbrush. Tried all sorts but this combination is used in a chain of London children’s hairdressers and since I have it a go I’ve never looked back.

PerveenMistry · 31/03/2021 01:25

Plain coconut oil

RandomUsernameHere · 31/03/2021 01:34

Frezyderm
I comb it through DD's hair every few days, makes it so much easier to do neat French plaits

We use Pear Spray (think it's L'Oreal) and a Tangle Teaser

GojiberryStar · 31/03/2021 06:54

Aussie miracle hair insurance spray in conditioner. Excellent detangling spray

FlyingByTheSeatof · 31/03/2021 18:34

First you need to trim her hair

Then use an ion hair brush.

Whoateallthechocolate · 31/03/2021 18:39

When DD was that age, I got her a wide tooth comb to leave in the shower. She wets her hair, shampoos it, conditions it, combs it, rinses it, combs it again. Once a week or so, we put Cantu leave in conditioner on it too. We used to put that on after every session and use other Cantu products but, having used them to get on top of the knots, we're now OK just using their leave in conditioner on occasion

Paul Mitchell taming spray. Expensive but worth it.

Tehmina23 · 31/03/2021 20:43

I use Charles Worthington detangling spray approx £4 at Boots for my wavy / curly yet fine easily tangled hair.

Spray it on the knots & tangles, leave the hair for a few minutes then comb through with a wide tooth comb.
Can be used on wet or dry hair & can be left in.
Acts as heat protection as well if you blow dry the hair.

Bravobravobravo · 01/04/2021 07:34

The child’s farm one is the best we have found. Also getting her to sleep with a couple of plaits in really helps us to get hair sorted quickly on school mornings.

KingdomScrolls · 01/04/2021 07:38

I've started using child's farm detangling spray on my hair after seeing how it worked on DS, tangle teezer wet brush is also brilliant. We both have thick very curly hair
