What to do with belt excess?

Do any of you have recommendations on how to hold down the excess length on belts?

As pictured here, it is about 1 1/2 inches too short to go into the side loop, but long enough to be irritating. I plan on also wearing with summer dresses to cinch the waist and they obviously have no belt loops at all. Advice greatly appreciated!

I can’t answer your question but is that jumper from Genevieve Sweeney? I have in black and thinking of getting that one too...! (Also Sézane belt?)

SummaLuvin · 29/03/2021 15:43

Yes. and Yes. Highly recommend the jumper in pink, loved it in the colder months, but in spring the soft pink and rainbow splatter feel really appropriate.

Yes thought it looked very spring like! It gets to a point when the sun comes out and I want to wear brighter colours. I’ll have a look and see if it’s in stock...

Maybe try a black bobby pin?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 29/03/2021 17:24

Or hair elastic?

timewilltellsontrushit · 29/03/2021 17:36

I'm sure a shoe repair place could alter it for you .. you can only ask.

FreekStar · 29/03/2021 17:57

Yes, a black hair bobble would do the trick.

Black hair bobble.

Snozwanger · 29/03/2021 18:48

I would buy some of those no snag hair bobbles that are a bit like and elastic band and use that.

AuldFox · 29/03/2021 19:01

Stick it down with double sided tape? Only if removable though!

EdgeOfFortyNine · 29/03/2021 19:08

Self-adhesive Velcro dots, can get them on eBay.

MoltonSilver · 29/03/2021 19:40

A shoe repair place should be able to shorten the belt for you.

tartiflette · 29/03/2021 21:18

Do you mind me asking whether you got the 80 or the 90cm belt?
It looks lovely by the way!

preparetheships · 29/03/2021 21:19

I fold it back on itself and under the same loop

SummaLuvin · 30/03/2021 08:58

Thanks for all the advice, lots of options to try out.

@tartiflette this is the 80cm one
