I'm looking for a blue and white summer dress...

Size 14, flattering for an exaggerated hourglass.

Something reminiscent of Santorini. Ideally cotton or cotton blend with a bit of a sleeve. It has to be something I can order online from a shop which does good international delivery.

other stories did a perfect one last year but I missed it in my size.

Has anyone seen anything good?

Joe Browns?

OOh thank you, I hadn't heard of either of those shops. The aspiga one would be perfect but its sold out in the bigger sizes, and Joe browns has a gorgeous navy and white one but I really want the bright blue and white colours. I'll definitely look there again though.

Sainsburys of all places had a nice one in yesterday.

QuentininQuarantino · 29/03/2021 15:05

I keep looking at that Zara one @pinkgin85 and can't make my mind up! I bought a blouse that was styled next to it in the display. But that sort of colouring yes!

@idontlikealdi thank you, I'm not in the UK so harder to access sainsburys (not impossible) - I'll have a look and maybe take a punt and order it to my sister's house.

Not sure if they have exactly what you are looking for, but ASOS now stock Forever New - an Australian brand that have some really lovely pieces. www.asos.com/women/a-to-z-of-brands/forever-new/cat/?cid=27098

@Standrewsschool

That’s pretty but the blue is a little darker than I wanted. I want to look like the rooftops of santorini!

Hush have this one: www.hush-uk.com/adelie-mini-dress-daisy-dot-blue/003150-3545.html. They have it in all the sizes at the moment, and while it's billed as a mini dress it will depend how tall you are.

I've also found bleue.co.uk, which has lots of possibilities. I can't vouch for them but they have several embroidered dresses from Greece.

This Zara one is cotton.

QuentininQuarantino · 29/03/2021 17:24

Thanks everyone! Those Bleue ones are divine and exactly right but too expensive for a want rather than a need! I’m going to go try the Zara one on

I recently ordered this www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/dresses-tunics/organic-cotton-jersey-fit-flare-pier-view-dress-village-flowers-yacht.htm
it looks really nice on and is very flattering - I'm also a size 14. Depends how old you are though, as last time I recommended something from Seasalt I was told it's for old people!!! You can currently get 50% discount if you are a keyworker too (only 2 days left though).

goose1964 · 29/03/2021 20:46

This any good ? www.monsoon.co.uk/daisy-print-dress-in-lenzing-ecovero-blue-14226861.html, I have the winter version in burgundy and it's so comfortable.

QuentininQuarantino · 29/03/2021 21:55

They’re all really pretty thank you. The ones I can afford don’t quite fit the colours but I’ve ordered a totally different one from sea salt now (thank you for the key worker discount info!) and that monsoon one is lovely although darker than I hoped for.

Only to add... Kit and Kaboodal have this one, and the cobalt blue is rather lovely.
www.kitandkaboodal.co.uk/made-in-italy-angelica-print-dress-p5195
Boden have quite a lot of blue/white dresses - too many to link, but might be worth a search and checking all the different colour options.

QuentininQuarantino · 30/03/2021 07:52

Hi @mrssmiling thank you, that kit and kaboodle one is gorgeous and they exact colours! I’m worried about the”one size fits 8-20) as I’ve never bought anything from there - have you?

Ive always found Boden not to fit my shape but the jersey dresses are nice.

No I haven’t - but do like the clothes. Maybe give them a ring?

MoltonSilver · 30/03/2021 08:55

If its any consolation, I ordered that And Other Stories dress last year and send it back. It was very disappointing compared to the picture.
