Which white trainers will you wear with skirts as it gets warmer?

I need some trainers that I can wear with skirts as it starts to warm up. I'll also wear with jeans rolled up. Which trainers will you be wearing this spring?

Thanks, SplendidSuns1000 - that's soothed my shopping fever a bit!

I think I live too rurally to pull off white trainers anyway; my current running-around-no-socks trainers are black New Balance Roavs that hide all manner of grot.

Mamette · 29/03/2021 11:56

@SaintReatham

Are Air & Grace trainers as comfy as the website makes out? I'm loathe to spend £165 on a pair of trainers but if they're as cloud-like as they say...
Not really. I have a pair but I don’t think I’d get another.
GwendolineWindowlene · 29/03/2021 12:02

Do Superga have any bounce in them at all? I have white Stan Smiths but they're pretty clumpy with my wide feet and short chubby legs.

TheHoundsofLove · 29/03/2021 12:11

I‘ve got white Nike Internationalists that I think look nice with practically anything. And they are so comfortable. Everyone else seems to love Superga, but I bought some last year and they are the most uncomfortable trainers I’ve ever worn! Gwendoline No - I wouldn’t say they have any bounce at all!

IllNeverLetGoJack · 29/03/2021 12:15

I hate converse as they are too flat and hurt my feet. I wear fitflop trainers! They look fine and are very comfy for me.

SummaLuvin · 29/03/2021 12:15

I often find pure white looks a little too stark. I will be wearing my cream slip on Vans.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/03/2021 12:33

The C80s are great, OP! I have black, white, and grey - the grey ones are probably the pair I wear most actually. I have Veja Esplars in black with white too, but don’t find them as comfy.

My favourite trainers are some gold Nikes which look great with leopard print, but I appreciate are not to everyone’s taste!

These are super comfy

Bilbymum · 29/03/2021 12:47

Lacoste - some quite “slim” ie not chunky/clunky styles and the ones I have fairly comfy (no heavy stiff soles). I’m not a fan of big chunky shoes that seem trendy now, so these could work if your style

@HeyGirlHeyBoy

You're the same as me Maxellious. I like the gola idea. A similar look I saw last year was royal blue Adidas (cloud maybe) with a green dress with a blue fleck. Granted the wearer was modelesque but it looked fab.
I love the sound of that outfit!

I second Nike internationalists. I have a black pair and they are by far the most comfy trainers I've owned.

KittyMcKitty · 29/03/2021 13:15

I am a bit of a trainers fan and have a few and really don’t think Stan Smiths can be beaten. I also have a pair of Nike high tops I wear a bit.

I’m put off Veja as they just seem soooooo heavy.

My absolutely fave pair of Stan smiths have sadly worn through at the bottom today and I’m contemplating whether to try something different (I have another pair of SS’s I keep for “best”).

DustySpringboard · 29/03/2021 13:34

I treated myself to a pair of Air & Grace trainers and yes, they're lovely but probably a bit overpriced.

Stans however are worth every penny and I love mine-I'm small with wide feet but they work. I must be on my fourth pair!

BringMeTea · 29/03/2021 13:56

Prime knit Stan Smiths, perfect for summer. And white Nike internationalists with raspberry tick.

Thisismynewname123 · 29/03/2021 14:18

I've looked up the Nike Internationalist that a few people mentioned. They look nice, but maybe too clompy to wear with skirts? Better for jeans, I think? Someone above also mentioned Adidas Ar, which I hadn't heard of before, but they also seem a bit too clompy for skirts.

Someone above mentioned Golas, and now I'm tempted by these, even though they're not just white, which is what I started looking for:
Gola
or these Hush ones, along the same line as the Golas:
Hush

High tops (either my Adidas ones which are leather or my canvas Vivienne Westwood ones). This has got me thinking though - might have to have a look at some others...

BringMeTea · 29/03/2021 14:47

Novestas are lovely if you want canvas. Toast have a good colour selection.

FannyFifer · 29/03/2021 14:52

Gazelles for me.

Thisismynewname123 · 29/03/2021 14:52

@BringMeTea they're nice. Do you have them? Are they comfortable?

TheLost · 29/03/2021 14:55

I love the look of Veja trainers but they look so tatty within a couple of wears. I might splash out on a pair of the Gucci X Disney ones as I quite like them and they’re hopefully slightly better quality than Veja.

frogswimming · 29/03/2021 14:55

Stan smiths and superga. Plus converse high tops for chilly ankles.

Oh well, just as well I didn't order the ones I was looking at! I've ordered a couple of pairs of Hush. I like the Nike ones, but I think they're a bit too close to a running trainer for me.
TheHoundsofLove · 29/03/2021 15:19

I think that's possibly why I like them so much Gwendoline - they do feel quite bouncy like a proper trainer. I think the main reason I didn't get on with my Supergas is that they didn't seem to have any give in them so rubbed my little toes. But...disclaimer....I do have oddly shaped feet!

BringMeTea · 29/03/2021 15:28

No, I don't OP but reviews suggest comfortable if a little weighty. I don't mind weighty... I see it as a mini work out... Grin

Famousinlove · 29/03/2021 23:58

Superga, comfiest shoes i've ever worn and look really nice, i've had lot of pairs
