Cartier love band or cheaper alternative?

Hi all!

Help please - I want a right hand ring. I want one a bit more subtle.

On my left hand I currently wear a solitaire with a rose gold wedding band so I want rose gold band for my right. Which if the two do you prefer? If anyone has a carrier band love to know your thoughts.

Also do you wear right hand rings on your fourth finger or middle?

Let me know which one you prefer!

There's obviously a big price difference too which is swaying me to the cheaper one.

I think the cartier is overpriced and the other one isn't gold and the gold plate will wear off!

I really like this
www.cruxlondon.com/the-shop/89ring

Which in solid 9ct rose gold would be half the price of the cartier!

I have a few pieces from this jeweller and she makes gorgeous stuff. You could probably commission something for the price of the cartier.

Oooh thanks for the suggestion! I know what you mean about Cartier. I might see if I can get a deal on eBay

I have the rose gold and diamond pave Cartier love ring and I wear it on the middle or fourth finger of my right hand. It's quite chunky so feels more secure on the middle finger. Of those two, I prefer the Cartier but a lot of people wear the plain Love bands, so you may prefer an alternative.

livinlavida2021 · 27/03/2021 21:35

@MapleMay11 - do you have the thin one or normal sized band?

@livinlavida2021
I have this one:

@MapleMay11 it's beautiful!

@livinlavida2021 Thank you Blush. It isn't the most comfortable ring to wear but it's a very flattering style. I do think you need to try a selection before you make a decision.

MacDuffsMuff · 27/03/2021 22:44

@MapleMay11 that is the most beautiful ring. 😍

justwaydamin · 27/03/2021 23:39

Go for the Cartier Grin
I don't have any of the rings but I have three of the bangles and some hoop earrings. Now that Maple has posted that ring I know what I might ask for when my bday comes round 👀

BeaLola · 28/03/2021 02:26

Are the bangles lovely IRL ? Which ones do you have

My DH likes them but not the price !

I was to seeing how realistic it is leaving them on all day and how "scuffed" they get ?

MapleMay11 · 28/03/2021 09:21

MacDuffsMuff Thank you Smile

MapleMay11 · 28/03/2021 09:27

BeaLola I wear a white gold diamond Love bracelet alongside a diamond clou on my left hand. I've never removed the Love since the day I got it over 15 years ago. It has lots of scratches on the underside but it's formed a patina over time so they all blend in. My clou needs removing for regular cleaning as I've found you can't do that properly while you're wearing it. Otherwise I leave that on all the time as well. You can't really see any scratches as it has a thinner bracelet.

justwaydamin · 28/03/2021 09:33

I have one in each of the golds :) you can see from the pic they definitely get marks and scratches but they've literally lived on my wrist for years

OP, have you considered the T range by Tiffany? I feel like it's similar in style to the first photo you posted and they're so nice on the hand!

Oooh that's a gorgeous stack.

I think in fantasy land, I'd get the Love Cuff rather than the bangle as I'd want to be able to take it off at will.

livinlavida2021 · 28/03/2021 10:02

@justwaydamin they look gorgeous on you!

I'd love a band but way out of my price range why I settled for the rings - I just looked at the Tiffany and it's also beautiful but I feel like the Cartier one has more substance to it, the Tiffany one a bit more modern and understated though. Decisions decisions!

@justwaydamin gorgeous Grin

PrimeraVez · 28/03/2021 13:21

I'm not in the UK but the Cartier one is ubiquitous where I am (and I suspect a lot are fake) It's kind of the next step up from the LV Neverfull if you see what I mean.

But only you know if that bothers you or not - it you like it, go for it!

brushlaptop · 28/03/2021 13:24

Definitely go for Cartier!

lovevlyt · 28/03/2021 13:39

@PrimeraVez lol well I also own the LV never full so it's not a dealbreaker but I bought my never full years before they were a thing and i do feel a bit concious with it.

Where I live is the kinda place where no one would even know what the Cartier love ring is most likely.

lovevlyt · 28/03/2021 14:09

I actually decided on reflection I'm sticking with the first option lily and ro, I went back to the website and saw you can order it in solid gold for £270. I'm not really feeling paying an extra £700 for the brand.

lovevlyt · 28/03/2021 14:10

I actually prefer the design of the cheaper option too

JackieWeaverFever · 28/03/2021 14:17

I prefer the design of the cheaper option but would go for solid gold.
Maybe talk to a decent independent jeweler and get them to make a Cartier love band if you want one?
I did this with the love bangle and saved $$$
