I use the Nip+Fab night time one (dark purple bottle) Not sure if it’s any good but I use it 2-3 times a week, have fairly sensitive skin and it’s fine on me. I’m mid-50s and have upped my skin care routine. I’m blessed with wrinkle-feee genes so don’t really know what works or not.
Good deals at Superdrug make it relatively cheap.

I'd go straight for prescription and use skin and me :)

YouSingIt · 28/03/2021 11:44

I but it online from an Andorran pharmacy. Arrived 4 days after ordering last week.

I've tried the Skin and Me free offer, but the retinol is only 0.006%. Whether they build it up over time I don't know.

stevalnamechanger · 28/03/2021 16:34

They do build up over time .

It's a superior formula to retirides that you get from the Andorran pharmacy - contains multiple actives rather than just tret and isn't fragranced ( used that in the past myself )

Sunnywaves · 28/03/2021 17:09

If you are already accustomed to Retirides they will start you around the same strength.
I am on 0.06% Tretinoin now, after 3 months of 0.04. I was previously using Retirides 0.05%. My skin is much better on Skin and Me than on Retirides due to the addition of Azaleic acid and Niacinamide.

I love the Paula’s Choice 1% retinol. It’s pricy, but I use a pea sized amount 2-3 times a week so it should last ages, and seems to be making a difference.

I've just finished the Roche posay one. Found it made a real positive difference to my skin. I'm 46.

They didn't start me on a similar strength unfortunately, as mentioned above, they sent me 0.006% It's ok, but retirides really suited me and people were commenting on how well I looked. There was a dramatic effect from using it. Everybody's skin is different I guess, and responds in differing ways.

My son is sending me some from. Spain this week.it's usually cheaper than what you can get here and made a difference.especially to crows feet

I had an online consultation with Emma during lockdown and am using the prescription Obagi range. In 6 months my really bad pigmentation on my face has almost disappeared

Geamhradh · 29/03/2021 06:28

All retinols will work, but do your research (or go straight to one of the prescription package places like Skin &Me or Dermatica) a lot of the % on the packaging isn't what it appears at first to be. You need to start small anyway (and retinol is a long game thing so you're talking months rather than days before you go "gosh I'm looking fab!"
Nadine Baggott has a very good video on YT where she explains the difference between retinol/retinoid/granactive/retinal/retin-A and what % each of these need to be before making a difference.
For example, there's an Olay night cream with retinol as it's next to last ingredient, yet it's at 0.3% which for a high street cream is great. One of the Ordinary ones touts itself as 1% on its packaging, but because of the type of retinol it carries, needs to be divided by 10 so is 0.1% of active retinol inside.

came here to say exactly this! I love the Obagi too (0.5%, similar price to PC). Totally worth it!
