Tightlining won't stay put!

Following a recent thread here I have been tightlining on my upper eyelid. I really like the way it looks BUT I always end up with my eyeliner transferring onto my lower lid edge after an hour or so.

Is this the fault of my eyeliner? I usually use MAC technakohl, or an Urban Decay powder, both normally pushed into my lashline. Putting either on my actual waterline ends up with it transferring.

Can anyone recommend a product that will not do this? I really want a cool brown or grey brown rather than black as I am in my 50s and black is a bit too much.

With the products you have you can try using powder over your kohl liner. If that doesn't work, I use Shiseido microliner ink for this and it does not budge or disappear on me. It comes in several colours including brown, not sure if it's cool though, I think it's more of a neutral brown, but it's been awhile since I've seen it in the flesh.

Laura Mercier tightliner cake, mixed with a drop of water and applied with a very fine flat brush into the base of the lashes, won't budge. I love the Marine Bleu which is slightly softer than black or brown, and really makes the green in my eyes pop.

The Shiseido looks interesting, it would be great if it really doesn't transfer! I will give it a try.

The Laura Mercier - the brown is a mahogany which I just know will make my eyes look red and ill! I don't think Navy would do anything for me.

The Laura Mercier one doesn't work for me, gives me panda eyes within minutes!

I find gel eyeliners best, pot ones better than pencil ones usually (but these are more convenient for me). I use Bobbi Brown pot eyeliner, lots of colours to choose from, with the flat straight LM eyeliner brush.
