I bought this dress last summer and surprisingly haven't found occasion to wear it yet

I'm only an evening reception guest but I'm wondering if I'll look like a wannabe bridesmaid? Thoughts/advice would be really helpful ☺️

Apologies for my appalling grammar, I'm posting from my phone

I think that's lovely for a wedding guest! (As long as the bridesmaids dresses aren't blue, that is!)

MarshaBradyo · 25/03/2021 19:44

No I don’t think you would look bridesmaid-y

Loopyloututu2 · 25/03/2021 19:47

Lovely dress!

Loopyloututu2 · 25/03/2021 19:48

The fact it's cotton and in a hippy-ish style stops it from looking bridesmaid-y IMO - very boho chic.

Standrewsschool · 25/03/2021 19:54

I don’t think it looks bridesmaid-y. It’s more hippy and boho.

Inthefuture · 25/03/2021 19:56

That could look stunning.

peachgreen · 25/03/2021 19:57

Is it an outdoor / relaxed wedding? And presumably in the summer? Fine for that, not really appropriate for a formal wedding imo.

RunningFromInsanity · 25/03/2021 20:02

Relaxed Summer wedding, yes

overwork · 25/03/2021 20:07

Gorgeous - for the right type of wedding (agree it may not work too well for a formal one). I'm jealous, I'd look like a sack of spuds in that

Blustered · 25/03/2021 20:11

Gorgeous for a summer wedding. I have a civil ceremony with a reception outside coming up and think that’s going on my list!

Perfect

PatsyJStone · 25/03/2021 20:26

Yes. I’d say as long as you’re not wearing white or cream, but that’s as I think that should be reserved for the bride.

VenusClapTrap · 25/03/2021 20:27

Oh wow I love that dress!

Yes it's an outdoor, marquee wedding in a field - I'm expecting it to be very relaxed. I think I need to do some investigating re. the bridesmaid colours but all of your replies have made me feel a lot more confident in wearing it, thank you Smile

I don't even need to wear a bra with it, it's really supportive - I highly recommend

That's lovely. So long as the bridesmaids aren't in bright blue, you'll be fine.

Onlinedilema · 25/03/2021 20:54

I agree you won't look like a bridesmaid. Ideal for a casual summer wedding.
