Smart work trousers for active job

I run music classes in nurseries and primary schools and after almost a year of barely working due to lockdown and Covid restrictions, I am getting more work and realise I need better work trousers. I wear a company polo shirt and have been asked to wear smart dark trousers, but not jeans.

I've been using trousers from when I had an office job, but after spending a morning dancing around with the kids, they get really creased and look awful.

Any recommendations? I'm 5 foot with short legs (but can turn up hems if necessary) and a size 8.

My favourite are from Uniqlo and they come in a few colours - I was actually recommended them by someone here on MN! www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/search?q=Elastic%20waist%20trousers&quickView=433255

Hi OP,
I am in a similar position. Professional job but need to be able to get on the floor with a child who cant tolerate being at a table.
I have these open in a tab, from following another thread on here earlier to day.

Are black skinny jeans not allowed? If you buy the very dark ones, they don’t even look like jeans and are very comfortable. I buy mine from Zara and H&M.

I like these from M&S. I'm 5'2 and wear the regular length with trainers, so the short length might work for you. They're stretchy, don't crease and don't need ironing!https://www.marksandspencer.com/mia-slim-ankle-grazer-trousers/p/clp60133212?intid=mobileappppdpshare

@DarlingCoffee they look great, I've never bought from Uniqlo before but occasionally peek at their website when I see ideas from here

@FionaMacCool they look ace but a bit out of my price range

@LaBellina maybe skinny black jeans might be ok, I'll have a look when the shops are open. I miss being able to feel clothes before I buy them

I like M+S drawstring tapered leg trousers. £25. They are made of smart material but have a relaxed fit.

@dryshampooer they sound perfect! I wear flat shoes for work so short length is good for me
