10yo Ds suddenly too cool for Boden - where do I get his clothes from

Everything on the Boden site suddenly looks very twee....

I get stuff from supermarkets and m&s mainly but I want to get him a nice hoodie or something for Easter and Boden has always been my go to for "nice" things but I feel he has outgrown the appliqué primary colours stage 😢.

Any ideas?

We've bought Fat face & Gap and Abercrombie if at a good price. He's currently got a Salt Rock one. Surf shops are usually nice - I tend to pick up bits at a designer outlet village for O'Neill, Levi's etc. Actually I saw some nice Levi's ones on the website yesterday.

Zara and Uniqlo were good, and sometimes Gap or Next, though they tended to be too wide for very skinny DS.

I really like this company for my both dc

catapultclothing.com

Grimbelina · 25/03/2021 14:29

H&M

LibertyMole · 25/03/2021 14:32

DD like yumi at that age. There may be a year or two where you have to go into hollister...

Although to be fair Hollister clothes last well.

MummyJ12 · 25/03/2021 14:41

Abercrombie or Zara. Abercrombie do fantastic hoodies and polos. Zara for t-shirts, jeans and jackets.

Carycy · 25/03/2021 14:43

My 7 year old son has gone from almost all boden to almost all Zara stuff in the last year or so. I love their ottoman joggers. They look smart but are still comfy for him, he hates all jeans or anything to structured. So have managed to avoid the dreaded all black tracky look for now. Have actually started putting my three year old in a lot of Zara now. Boden is starting to feel a bit twee even for him.

MummyJ12 · 25/03/2021 14:46

Also try the Ralph Lauren outlet. Sometimes you can get additional discounts which makes their clothes great value.

TechnoDino · 25/03/2021 14:48

H&M or Zara kids

Puffinhead · 25/03/2021 14:48

Hype?

Hazelnutlatteplease · 25/03/2021 14:53

H&m
Character or Nike hoodies

mumofpickles · 25/03/2021 15:06

Mine are football mad and want hype, rascal and sports clothes along with H&M, gap, next, and supermarket bits.

Dirtyplates · 25/03/2021 15:11

My 13 year old ds likes hollister, under armour, Nike hoodies.

luggageandbags · 25/03/2021 15:17

Arket and COS for my boys, but I'm not sure what size they go up to.

satishoused · 25/03/2021 17:36

Oh thank you, just checked this again and so many brilliant suggestions!!

DFND at m and m direct seem popular around here. DS got an Adidas hoodie at Christmas and was delighted.

whataboutbob · 25/03/2021 20:16

I also had that Boden’s uncool moment. My teens like H&M, some Uniqlo stuff. They also order themselves stuff online eg from ASOS , but they are 14&17.

SarahBellam · 26/03/2021 06:07

Mine moved to Jack Wills and Hollister, with H&M for basics and sports direct (which I loathe) for Adidas and Nike tops and joggers. TK Maxx is also a good place to get sports brands at a good price. When my DD15 goes out with her friends into town they usually come back with Primark miknaks like socks and pyjamas.

YerAWizardHarry · 26/03/2021 06:08

Adidas or Nike or just a basic zippy top/hoody from one of the supermarkets

Blueuggboots · 26/03/2021 06:22

Next, H&M and primark.

AlwaysLatte · 26/03/2021 06:26

My 10 year old lives in jeans, T shirts (likes Dare 2b but other not too busy t shirts as well) and hoodies - mostly from M and S or H & M. 13 year old likes jeans, plain white or navy t shirts, only criteria the really nice quality soft cotton ones, and Nike zipless hoodies - navy, grey or black.

By 10 all of mine favoured sports brands. Can be bought quite cheaply from sports direct etc.
SoundOfFalsetto · 26/03/2021 08:24

I need to take my nearly 12-year-old shopping as he has no clothes left. All his loungewear are now capri pants. I struggle because he is 5ft tall, but he is too big for Boden age 14/15 tops. He is not fat, a little bit podgy, and very strong and stocky. I really struggle to get things to fit him. He is not fashion conscious so I don't really need to worry about brands.

AllisoninWunderland · 26/03/2021 08:36

Polarn O Pyret go up to age 12 and the sizes are very generous so I’d say potentially a bit older too.
