Do my eyes deceive me? Monsoon have a few nice dresses!?

... and it’s starting to be a theme. I bought 2 dresses from them last summer, pure cotton, nice fit, quality v good for the price.

And now I’ve just looked again and seen (amongst the horrors) other tempting dresses. This one for example

Plain yes but I like plain! There are even a few printed ones I like the look of.

Is it just me?! I avoided Monsoon for years because of embroidered boho flounces.

Am I getting old?! (Am 44. Not old!!!)

Ok a closer trawl shows it’s roughly 90% unwearable (by me anyway; am sure the styles are v nice on others) but 10% nice; not exactly high fashion but nice summer frocks for looking like I’ve made an effort. I probably got overexcited at first glance Grin but I’m still pleasantly surprised

I really like the one you've linked! So not just you!

(But maybe just us...?!)

Probably just us Grin

I bought a dress very like that last year from M&S, it was c£20 reduced from c£40 and then at the till it was actually £7! Wish I'd bought two.

But yes, I like that one!

I'm not sure of the darts at tit level. I think if u have a bust they'll look odd.

But generally I agree monsoon (and dare I say phase 8) look okay these days.

Twilightstarbright · 24/03/2021 12:12

I know what you mean, it doesn't look Monsoon and looks more Cos/H&M style.
I got a lovely dress in monsoon in December that's stylish and wearable for parties (I'm not in the UK).

Ah I am flat as an ironing board Lizzie which is probably why I didn’t notice that detail!

I bought that one from M&S too! Linen, lovely line to it - paid full ticket price but still felt I'd got a bargain!

I love Monsoon. Always have.

(Still regretting not buying a glorious skirt in the Marrakech branch, wrongly assuming it would be available online and/or in the UK sigh...)

Pinkappleblossom · 24/03/2021 20:38

I have a virtually identical lovely one from next!!

Happymum12345 · 24/03/2021 20:45

I thought the same about Monsoon and bought a new dress and I’m so disappointed in it. Another one to return. Perhaps it’s just my shape it doesn’t suit!

I've been buying things from monsoon after probably 10 years of not shopping there. I have to search through the alarming prints though...

VenusClapTrap · 24/03/2021 22:19

I’ve always had a fondness for Monsoon. I’ve had some nice bits from there over the years. There’s a lot I don’t like, but it’s always worth a look. Their knitwear is good.

TokyoSushi · 24/03/2021 22:24

Just occasionally, there's an absolute gem in Monsoon, and that's what keeps me going back!

goose1964 · 24/03/2021 22:59

I love Monsoon and have bought loads over the years. However I'm quite a hippy so embroidered bono is my thing.
