Still want skinny jeans!

I know from these threads that skinny jeans are now not 'on trend', but at 5'2" with a mum tum, i still feel they're more flattering on me than most styles. Mom jeans look horrendous, balloon jeans look worse. I also live rurally so often wear wellies, so need to be able to tuck in.

My normal go to style were h&m shaping high skinnies, but they seem to have disappeared and similar styles in the range never seem to stock my size (10)/ coulour etc. Maybe running down stock?

So, I need some high waist skinnies, stretchy, ideally mid blue or khaki. Any good tips???

I am 5' 3" 8 and a half stone, Matalan April super skinny work for me.

I'm short too and find river island and M&S the best for jeans.

iVampire · 24/03/2021 06:33

Uniqlo

I’m sticking with skinnies too, as they are the most flattering on me by a mile, and the natural shape is a classic. The popularity of leggings/sports leggings mean it’s a shape (whether denim or not) that we’ll keep seeing

What about jeggings?
Top shop at ASOS have some nice ones. I wear them for dog walking as they are so comfy.

Cam2020 · 24/03/2021 06:39

And what else do you wear with boots?! Not so relevant at the moment, but during winter, I kept seeing people (in both real life and in magazines) with ankle boots, leaving half an inch or so of bare leg. Fine for a nice autumn or spring day, but that's just ridiculous.

I have the opposite problem! I'm 5'10 and always loved DP skinnies - where am I going to go now? The right shape jeans are so difficult to find!

Tigresswoods · 24/03/2021 06:44

Next have just what you're looking for!

Sammysquiz · 24/03/2021 06:53

@Cam2020 I’m the same height as you and also loved DP skinnies, and have found M&S Ivy jeans to be a good replacement.

Jeggings seem to be disappearing too! It’s so annoying! I live in them.

M&S jeggings £15. High waist and lots of colours.

Floisme · 24/03/2021 07:05

If you can hang on till the charity shops reopen, they should be full of them.

rookiemere · 24/03/2021 07:09

I second M&S Ivy jeans. They are slim fitting rather than skinny, so a slightly more modern silhouette, but still can be tucked into wellies.

Direwolfwrangler · 24/03/2021 07:11

I wear Levi’s 721 high waisted skinny jeans. They come in different colours and lengths.

TokyoSushi · 24/03/2021 07:16

Also reccommend M&S Ivy!

rookiemere · 24/03/2021 07:18

Apologies Lily Slim jeans are the M&S ones I wear

Cam2020 · 24/03/2021 07:22

@Sammysquiz thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely be trying those out!

Eminybob · 24/03/2021 07:23

Tesco sculpting jeans. Sooo stretchy and high waisted.

Noauthorityhere · 24/03/2021 07:23

I have a pair of Lily slim M&S jeans which are really comfy, and although not skinny fit are still good for tucking into boots. I'm losing baby weight and these are the only non elasticated trousers I can bear to wear at the moment. Im tall too so the long length fits me really well - would recommend.

I wear lovely socks with my straight leg and tapered cropped jeans. No need for bare ankles!
