Help please - searching for the perfect black crossbody bag

Hello,

I have some birthday money to spend and I'd like to purchase a black crossbody bag with it. I normally don't spend a lot of money on bags so this is a one off treat - my budget is about £250-£300, although if there's something nice which is cheaper, then even better!

I had a look at some Kate Spade bags which i liked, but i'm not too sure about the brand as i've heard that their bags tend to get damaged quite quickly. I'd like to find something which is timeless and a classic.

Please could you recommend some brands, and any links to nice bags you've spotted.

Definitely Wanderers travel co. The leather is buttery soft and they're so well made. I have a teal Venetian passport and it's a fab size, easily fits purse, kindle, make up, medication and keys. Highly recommend them.

@EmmaStone Highly recommend Wanderers! My bag is absolutely beautiful (Venetian passport in azzuro) and I'm eyeing up another for next month.

There are some great black cross body bags on Brand Alley at the moment.

I second APC bags. I just bought a mini half moon in red to add a pop of colour to my mostly monochrome wardrobe

Have a look at smaak Amsterdam. Came across in a boutique and in love with mine. I got a black crossbody. It comes with two straps, a thin matching leather and a big chunky fabric one. Just utterly beautiful bags and not too namey.

I know you said you were wary of Kate Spade but I have this one and I absolutely love it. Perfect size for everything I need without being too bulky and heavy to carry all day.

I use it every day and I'm fairly careful with it, looks good as new apart from one corner I trapped in the car door

I would do a custom-made one by mass access. What color do you want? Do you like structured or something more like a pouch? There are beautiful leathers to choose from and getting something made just for you is a real kick.

My Kate Spade seems very well made and appears to be wearing well . You may get more fore your money if you wait a few weeks for the Designer Outlet Villages to open again . That is if you're not too far from one .
