Calling all ‘winters’ ...

I’m trying to stop buying black clothes so I’m trying to find alternative neutrals. Navy is good - but what does a cool beige/stone/taupe look like? It’s very tricky without being able to try things on! To those of you with winter-colouring - have you found any clothes in these types of neutral shades that look fab?

Have you looked on the Kettlewell website? Lots of ideas for the various seasons.

Ooh thanks - will take a look. I’m pretty good at recognising warm and cool tones ... just not with neutrals Confused

I’ve never worn a taupe colour, as I like a bit of contrast against my face. Taupe doesn’t seem ‘cool’ to me though?
I have a few navy trousers and dress for work. I wear with some of the ‘icy’ shades so pale blue, pale pink, dove grey.
The kettlewell site is good as the PP has suggested.

Taupe has beige, so could be a bit warm for winter palettes?
My go-to neutrals are navy and cool greys (charcoal or pale grey)

I am a clear winter with very pale pink/cool toned skin & seem to suit very vivid colours, nothing pastel or muted. I can't wear beige or taupe, its just too close to my skin tone & I look awful in it. For neutrals I wear navy, charcoal or a really crisp bright white. I love pale grey though it doesn't suit me but its ok if I don't wear it too close to my face. I've also found i can just about get away with khaki as long as its a dark shade & I have a bit of a tan Smile

I think that Zara has trouser suits in winter colours at the moment. I noticed because I'm spring and none of them were quite right for me.
