Has anyone ordered prescription sunglasses online?
I have my prescription but what about my lenses maybe needing thinned down?
Or fitting correctly behind the ears?
Anyone any advice on buying prescription sunglasses online ?
Much much appreciated

I also would love any advice on this.

I ordered a pair from glasses direct along with a spare pair of normal glasses and am really happy with them. You just put in your prescription from the card you get at an eye test, and use the measurements on the inside of the arm on your existing glasses to get the right fit.

Definitely Glasses Direct. You have the option of thinner lenses and you also get to try on up to 4 pairs of frames before ordering.

I got some Cath Kidston ones from Specsavers last summer and I was really happy with them. Like others have said it's probably best if you know the width of lenses that you usually go for which is on the arm of your glasses.

As an alternative, I have these, so only need one pair of glasses www.minteyewear.co.uk/product-category/magnetic-clip-on-sunglasses/

I've got glasses direct prescription sunglasses and they're great, 'Oscar' with a dark tint.

Yes only order online now. So i jsed Superdrug 2 for 1 and got glasses and prescription sunglasses. I che ked measurements against my existing glasses (they will give you all dimensions on the glazses). Some sites have a try on feature too. I have -5 and -4.5 so i know lenses are thick and i pay for thinner and coatings.

Now i scratched my good glasses, vlooked on a site called firmoo (make sure your on the uk one). I bought 2 pairs, thin lenses, slight tint, coating etc all for £60, absolutely brilliant service.

I suffer with migraines and tbe light brown tint has really helped me.

I found mister spec excellent (and you can do a virtual try-on) www.misterspex.co.uk

Excuse the typos, so tired lol, its not the glasses promise 😄

SummaLuvin · 23/03/2021 20:14

I have just ordered normal ones from Bloobloom, but they do sunglasses too. They have good reviews and you can order frames to try on at home before you buy - I think Glasses Direct do this too.

They automatically thin lenses included in price.

For fitting they state that most opticians will do this for free but will reimburse you unto £30 if you are charged fitting within 30 days of receipt of the glasses.

TheVolturi · 23/03/2021 20:15

I didn't bother with the thin lenses for my sunglasses. They look great.
