My daughter is 5 and eats well has a good diet of fruit protein veg dairy etc takes multivitamins daily just her hair doesn't seem to grow! It's funny as her father as very very thick hair and mine is normal in thickness too.
Shes got straight Caucasian hair and It's quite thick at the root but will not thicken at the ends and is so thin and split at the ends. And won't grow longer than jus below her shoulders !
I regularly trim it, use leave in conditioner, wash it 3-4 times a week and half dry it with a hair dryer so not much heat and leave the rest to dry naturally or in a plait for bed. I make sure her hairstyles for school are not too tight and she wears it down a lot too. She's gettin upset sometimes comparing her hair to other girls at school with long thick hair. Can anyone please help or recommend a product or something to help promote thickness and growth ? Thanks 🙏🏻

I think some people are just destined to not be able to grow very long hair.

For someone with a shorter hair growth cycle, the follicles will expel the hair at a certain length (for your DD that seems to be just-past-shoulder length), and begin new growth.

You can seek to improve the health of the scalp, or the condition of the hair, or the appearance of the thickness of the hair, but not the hair's maximum length.

I would wash it less often, twice a week maybe. Try a different conditioner, maybe a rubber out one that's a bit heavier? Cut a couple inches off to get rid of all split ends and give her time. The sun might help now its getting warmer with longer days. And make sure she's taking multivitamins.
