Tinted moisturiser which doesn’t exacerbate fine lines

I’m early 40s, signs of ageing definitely appearing, primary fine line as around eyes. I’m currently using Clarins tinted moisturiser but I find by afternoon it’s starting to cake a bit and exacerbate those lines. My skin generally isn’t too bad, hence tinted moisturiser is sufficient for me. Rarely wear full foundation.

What should I try that won’t make my lines look worse?

I use bare minerals tinted moisturiser and have never ever noticed any issues with caking. In fact, I'm wearing it today and have just had a quick check of my face and it still looks fine.

Failing that you could try a bb cream which would have a similar consistency/finish but might be a bit longer lasting? M&S do a popular bb cream/tinted moisturiser and I've seen people recommend Erborian bb cream recently too. Haven't tried either but have seen both come up on similar threads.

Garnier BB Cream. It makes my skin look so much better and completely natural. Several people have commented since I started using it.

Estee Lauder Daywear.

Clinique BB gel. Love it. You can choose the inner serum bit to focus on what you choose too. Often 20% off with free delivery direct from the website 👍

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser
Trinny BFF

But if you can find a budget one that’s better!

Make sure your skin is well hydrated and consider a primer, that might solve it if it’s a good colour match. Or mix in some additional moisturiser, sounds like it’s slightly heavy.

Lancôme hydra zen tinted moisturizer is so lovely. I wear it every day. I haven’t found anything that comes near!

Oblomov21 · 20/03/2021 18:37

I too new a new tinted moisturiser.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 20/03/2021 18:37

Honestly I’d look at your skincare, if your make up looks ok initially but then goes cakey it sounds like your skin might be a bit dehydrated and is soaking up the water in the tinted moisturiser, which just leaves the pigment on the skin. In your shoes I’d try a hyaluronic acid serum in the morning (applied onto damp akin) and see if that helps.

IT Cosmetics CC cream is fab. I'm 54 and love it

FreshFaceTime · 20/03/2021 18:51

@StarCourt I agree it's fab but it's definitely heavier than a tinted moisturiser!

I've started using invisible zinc and it is brilliant. I had to order it from Australia but so pleased I did. I got both their tinted moisturiser (30spf) and their sheer defence (50spf) in both the light and medium shade. I sometimes blend the two together.

Trinny BFF. Expensive, but good.

Anothernamebitesthedust · 20/03/2021 19:13

Ooh thanks all. More than happy to throw some money at it so off to look at Trinny BFF. Skincare routine is pretty good, retinol etc, but will look at hyaluronic acid.

I wear Bare Minerals and love it. I've recently bought Pixi h2o skin tint and it's nice but I haven't worn it for a full day at work yet so reluctant to give it as good a review as Bare Minerals!
I found IT cosmetics too heavy and more like a foundation.

Ghostlyglow · 21/03/2021 09:41

Definitely try hyaluronic acid. I started using a serum a couple of months ago and could see the difference quite quickly (I'm a few years older than you, though so more to work on Grin)

imadeitnice · 21/03/2021 09:45

This is the only one I like.
