Never tried these but see them mentioned a lot on here. Are they good? What's the sizing like? I'm a size 14, so thinking I'd probably need a large?

I need something to wear under a relatively body-hugging black dress, but also want to be able to breathe/move/go to the loo easily!

I'm usually a 12 or 14 and I wear a medium in these.

And I also have Spanx tights which are also excellent, they have really good support.

@Throughabushbackwards - If they are comfy, it looks as if you may have found the holy grail in shapewear that is stylish.

It depends on your definition of "comfy"! They are not as comfortable as the big cotton pants I wear most of the time when I'm not at work but they are certainly wearable, flatten the waist line and are invisible under clothes. I don't like wearing g-strings any more but I can wear these.

My sister wears Spanx sometimes, but I don't think they're comfy... I think you can choose what level if support / control you want though. Hers might be the strong ones! She only wears them on nights out.

Back in the day, the reason so many mothers “encouraged” their teenage daughters into what were then called “firm control panty girdles” wasn’t so much to keep tummies in as to keep boyfriends out!

If you’re a 14 you can prob fit a medium. I love my Spanx shorts
